Speaking as former self-catering owners we were very impressed with the high standard of furnishings and fittings. We would just say that a few minor additions would make the cottage even better, such as the inclusion of kitchen roll, foil and a hand-towel in the kitchen and a shaver point in the bathroom would be an advantage. Speaking as former self-catering owners we were very impressed with the high standard of furnishings and fittings. We would just say that a few minor additions would make the cottage even better, such as the inclusion of kitchen roll, foil and a hand-towel in the kitchen and a shaver point in the bathroom would be an advantage. We also noticed a pungent smell of drains whilst having our coffee outside, presumably from the septic tank, but these are minor details which did not really detract from the enjoyment of our break.

As for the smell you mentioned, we got onto it straight away. We traced it to a drain from a water downpipe which was partially blocked, which we have now unblocked. It was definitely not the septic tank, which is in good working order and emptied regularly.
