    “Enjoyed our stay in the Annex, everything we needed, nice and close to the forest.”

    And very comfortable. Helen & Jeremy were very helpful. The only thing I would say is it took a quite a time to find it,as it is actually off to the back of the property.

The property

Church Road Annexe is a wonderful ground-floor annexe apartment nestled in the small town of Cinderford, in Gloucestershire.

The cottage provides a light, airy and extremely welcoming accommodation, set across one floor.

Inside, you will discover an open-plan living space, where you can look forward to relaxing whilst catching up with your favourite shows, or enjoying a movie night, or family game night.

The compact kitchen has a lovely set of wooden units and sleek black worktops, providing plenty of appliances so you can rustle up some delicious meals, to be enjoyed at the dining table over a well-deserved glass of wine.

Once the evening draws to a close, retire to the double bedroom for some much needed rest for the day's ahead, with a deluxe shower room to support.

To the front of the property is a spacious garden with plenty of seating to dine alfresco or simply enjoy a refreshing beverage.

The popular town of Cinderford is an excellent base for touring this wonderful part of Gloucestershire, and is within driving distance of the thriving city of Gloucester and the town of Cheltenham, for many popular attractions.

If you don't fancy cooking one evening, make sure to sample one of their traditional pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience.

If you drive just 10 minutes away you could also dine at Speech House, A 17th Century Hunting Lodge used by King Charles 1, which is idyllically set in the heart of the Forest Of Dean.

Situated on the eastern fringes of the Forest of Dean, you can access many country walks and cycling opportunities, with stunning panoramic views surrounding as well as Beechenhurst in the Forest of Dean and thr Dean Forest Railway for steam enthusiasts.

If you're the sporty type, then you will delight in some nearby mountain biking, golfing and watersports such as fishing and boating.

Make sure to visit Monmouth, Chepstow, the Cotswolds AONB and the popular adventure park Go Ape for an adventure-filled day.

CINDERFORD

Ross-on-Wye 8.6 miles; Gloucester 15 miles; Cheltenham 22 miles.

Cinderford is set in an elevated position in the Forest of Dean and has views out across the River Severn. With a good range of local amenities including shops, pubs and an open air market and cinema, Cinderford is a lovely base from which to begin your explorations of the area. Close by is the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering numerous trails that can be explored on foot, bicycle or horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are on offer for the more adventurous, while fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. Just a short drive away, in the historic waterfront city of Gloucester, you will find Roman foundations, Victorian Docklands and a spectacular Norman Cathedral (whose cloisters were used as a location in the Harry Potter films). Visit the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, with timbered Tudor houses and excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, in the heart of rural Herefordshire. Cheltenham is just over 20 miles away and is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, 4 days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse. The Severn Estuary, famous for its tidal bore, is a delight for bird watchers, wildlife enthusiasts and bore surfers alike. This unspoilt area has something to offer at any time of the year.
