“We had a wonderful, comfortable stay at Cowfair!”

It's a lovely old detached cottage - tucked away just off the High Street in picturesque Chipping Campden - a great base for a winter break! We are impressed with how well equipped and spacious it is and really appreciated some improvements and upgrades which had taken place since our last visit. We have stayed here 3 or 4 times now - can't remember exactly, but we love it and would happily return in the future. We're always amazed at how peaceful the location is, given that it's so close to ...

The property

Set down a quiet lane in the heart of Chipping Campden, this warm family friendly Cotswold cottage is a delightful period home in a great location to enjoy this cracking town.

The cottage, as you'd expect, has plenty of history within, it's large rooms are all nicely yet simply furnished and above all it is beautifully fresh and clean.

The locals call the lane 'Cowfair' one suspects for obvious reasons (!!) but the beauty of this location is that you are no more than 2mins from the Campden High Street with its selection of pubs, cafes, attractive shops and similar.

You're also about 200 yards from the Cotswold Way which leads up to Dovers Hill from here, where you can walk up a thirst and enjoy some of the best views in the Cotswolds.

Parking is no problem, and privacy similarly as you have your own enclosed garden to the rear.

The kitchen and Living Rooms are spacious and inviting and so too are the two bedrooms upstairs.

Private garden with furniture and a gas bbq.

Sorry, no pets and no smoking.

This cosy cottage is attractive, simple and serene and is absolutely perfectly located for a relaxing, enjoyable break.

About the location

CHIPPING CAMPDEN

Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 12 miles

This market town defines the saying "good things come in small packages" as it proves itself to be a wonderful place for tourists to stay. Chipping Campden sits in the northern part of the Cotswolds and boasts many historical buildings from St. James' church where the Chipping Camden Music Festival is held every year, to the early 17th century market hall upon which the town prides itself. Not only does the town have a rich history but much more, the high street is laced with charming Cotswold stone buildings with a range of shops and pubs. Nearby there are several beautiful, formal gardens for you to wander through. Chipping Campden has held its own 'Olimpick Games' since the early 1600s including peculiar sports such as 'shin-kicking', most certainly worth lining your holiday up with to experience something so unique. For a dose of famous history, head to the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon just 12 short miles away, it offers some charming little buildings, bookshops, theatres and museums.
