Located in the centre of Broadway, 'the jewel of the Cotswolds', Yarn Cottage is the perfect base from which to discover the delights of this area.
Located just a few yards from the High Street (or 'broad way') what was previously a row of three terraced cottages believed to date back to the 1700's, Yarn Cottage has been lovingly converted into a single dwelling (a process continued by the current owners) to provide superb accommodation for families or friends.
Attention to detail can be seen at every turn, and the history of the cottage is apparent in the detail of the stone fireplaces and exposed stone wall in the kitchen.
In the twenty first century we expect a few more modern conveniences, and these are supplied in abundance: on the ground floor you will find a snug, where you can curl up with a good book, and a separate sitting room, complete with log-burner for those cooler winter evenings.
You have a superbly equipped kitchen as well as a light and bright dining area - where you could spend many happy hours discussing the day's events.
On the ground floor is the most recent addition to the cottage - a luxurious king-size bedroom, complete with free standing slipper bath.
On the first floor you will find a further three bedrooms, comprising of a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room, a double room as well as a single room with day bed, offering a flexible sleeping arrangement for a variety of group needs.
Outside, on balmy summer evenings, why not take advantage of the private and enclosed patio and enjoy a spot of al-fresco dining.
When you decide to venture out you must explore the delights of the High Street, located just 50 yards from the cottage, where little has changed for hundreds of years.
Running from the base of Fish Hill, you can wander through its various sections, from the beautifully preserved, honey coloured sandstone homes, to the more popular tourist spot by the village green, with its array of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Alternatively if you are feeling more energetic, take a walk-up Fish Hill to Broadway Tower and take in the stunning views.
A little further afield you could explore Stow on the Wold, or take a short trip to Bourton on the Water ' the Venice of the Cotswolds'.
If a bit of retail therapy is required, then Cheltenham is only 15 miles away.
Yarn Cottage really is the perfect base for families and friends when exploring this beautiful part of the world.
