“Positives:
Great location.”
Just a few minutes walk to the village centre. Very quiet and peaceful although on a main road. Not overlooked by anyone from the back. Kitchen well equipped, including a compact dishwasher. Nicely decorated throughout. Car parking space and a secure single garage available across the road in the long stay car park.
Negatives:
The smaller bedroom is quite tight for space. The bigger bedroom gets direct sunlight in the mornings. The curtains are not lined with blackout material so we got woken up very early every morning with the light.
The duvets and woollen blankets were quite warm for the weather conditions. Cotton blankets would have been great.
The main spoiler for us was the strong wet dog odour downstairs in the two living rooms as well as the bottom of the stairs. A wet dog has most obviously been on the sofas in the main living room, leaving the awful odour on even the cushions. We found the voile curtain in the kitchen had been ripped very badly on one side, the other bears dog bite marks. We had to report these issues to the owner. I had to buy a can of Fabreeze to try and get rid of the awful odour. Even with 2 liberal applications, the unpleasant odour still lingered on. We had not realised this was a pet friendly cottage when we booked. We will avoid booking a pet friendly property in the future for sure.
Thank you very much for your feedback.
