“Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not As Advertised We booked this property expecting a special weekend away with fun facilities and a clean, welcoming environment.”

What we experienced instead was a poorly maintained house with numerous inaccuracies on the listing. While the space itself is large and the bedrooms are reasonably comfortable, the main appeal – the advertised facilities – were either broken, unsafe, or simply not present. What we experienced instead was a poorly maintained house with numerous inaccuracies on the listing. While the space itself is large and the bedrooms are reasonably comfortable, the main appeal – the advertised facilities – were either broken, unsafe, or simply not present. I will be providing the host a full and detailed breakdown, but a summary is below. The hot tub was unusable until the final evening of our stay due to it being cold, lacking chemicals, and in disrepair (faulty jets, no lighting, missing cover over the filters). The outdoor area was unkempt with overgrown weeds and dangerous and loose paving slabs. A BBQ and outdoor furniture for lounging on would be useful additions (there is no outdoor seating other than the swing seats at the table). The gaming facilities were a disaster. Nearly every amenity was broken: the electronic dartboard didn’t work, table football was unusable, arcade machines were faulty, and the pool table was damaged and neglected. The games room toilet didn’t flush, blinds were broken and hazardous, and the advertised geodome was completely missing. The kitchen was ill-equipped, missing basic essentials like oven gloves, serving bowls, and bin bags. Appliances were either broken or filthy – the wine cooler heated up instead of cooling, the coffee machines didn’t work, and the fridge’s water dispenser was dirty and unusable. General maintenance was severely lacking, with broken cupboard doors, seals on the patio door, and an overall feeling of uncleanliness. Bathrooms were similarly poor, with mould, leaks, missing toilet paper, and fixtures poorly fitted. The shower door over the bath leaked heavily, and the bath panel was awkwardly screwed in. Cleanliness was unacceptable. We found crumbs, crisps, hair in beds, and even someone else’s charger behind a bed – clearly not thoroughly cleaned between stays. Customer service was minimal – delayed responses, no welcome pack, and poor communication. Important information was missing or on websites we couldn’t get to (QR codes didn’t work). Most critically, the listing is misleading. The features advertised as available or in working order were not. We were promised an improved experience despite negative reviews, but they were unfortunately accurate. We cannot recommend this property, especially for those seeking a comfortable or premium experience. It is far from the quality that it is made out to be.
