Bear's Cottage

Cottage was very pretty and has been maintained well by the owners.

Owners were very helpful in welcoming us to the house. Good location for exploring Cotwolds. Sadly on the first night although the bed was comfy we found the pillows far too soft so next day we had to go and purchase some. The biggest issue for my wife was being next to a church with a clock that chimes EVERY hour, which did disrupt her sleep. Really I do think this should be highlighted in the listing. We would not have booked this location. Unfortunately by thursday she was so tired we opted to leave a full day early. I can see many people have been happy with Bears Cottage, but it really didn't suit us.

The cottage was immaculate- clean, well presented and comfortable.

Who could ask for more?

Ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds.

property has everything you need Spotless clean and well equipped. Fleece in pub is just a walk away always Something going on there. Ice garden to sit outside could do with a parasol for the garden table for a bit of shelter from the heat

Excellent cottage, perfect location and cleanliness was exceptional.

Community shop ( across the road) had everything one could need, NT pub just 50 metres walk through the oh so delightful village, with superb food, good atmosphere and regular entertainment events. Owners were easily contactable if required.

We had a lovely time at Bear's Cottage!

Loved staying at your cottage and also seeing the photos and reading about your renovation project of it.

Everything about the cottage was excellent.

The only thing I would have liked would have been an explanation in the cottage portfolio for the unusual name "Bear's Cottage"

Really nice cottage in a lovely village, garden area was really nice would definitely reccomended to anyone wanting to stay & have a good look round the Cotswold area

A beautiful cottage which was spotlessly clean.

Perfect for 2 adults but limited hanging space for 4 adults. Would happily return.

This by far is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in by far.

Every thing you could want to make your stay easy, the handy village and social club near by and the fantastic fleece pub just 50 yards away. 30 mins from most towns in the area and only 20 mins from the M 5.The cottage is decorated in a profesional way, many thanks to Phil and wife for letting us stay here

Can’t fault it.

One of the best we’ve stayed in in a village location. Complimentary tickets to the British Motor Museum a really nice touch. Well worth a visit. The Fleece 15th century pub great, spent 6 nights out of 7!!!

Communication before we arrived was excellent.

When we arrived tired and cold we were delighted that the host had left the heating on so the whole cottage was as warm as toast. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious home made cake left in the kitchen and the bottle of white left chilling on the fridge. All in all a perfect mini break at Bear's Cottage. Thanks Sue and Phil.

Excellent property.

Beautiful cottage which was in a wonderful location. Could not fault anything about the place or the area. Had a brilliant week visiting many place of interest and walking the many public footpaths. We have already recommended the cottage to friends and family. We will return in the future.

A really delightful cottage set in beautiful surroundings.

The cottage was absolutely perfect. The little touches that Phil and Sue added made it feel HOME from HOME. We would certainly come back here.

One of the very best cottages that we've stayed in.

The quality of the accommodation is second to none. The location is perfect for exploring the area. We would not hesitate in returning.

Wonderful cottage, spotlessly clean and would certainly recommend to others.

We will definitely return.

This was our first experience of renting a cottage and we picked Bear's Cottage after carefully reading the very complimentary previous reviews.

We were not disappointed. The location was perfect, the cottage spotlessly clean with all the little touches that helped to make our holiday highly enjoyable. Thank you Susan and Phil, you seem to have thought of everything, we hope to return in the future.

Cottage was in immaculate condition.

There is a pub/restaurant and a shop within 2 minutes walk of the property. The location is ideal for exploring the area. I would rate this cottage as excellent.

Beautiful cottage and very clean, will be back later in the year.

Beautifully restored cottage, very clean and welcoming and the owners ensure there is contact should you ever need them.

It is perfectly placed to explore a lot of the Cotswolds and the villagers are very friendly and welcoming. Would defiantly recommend this to family and friends. Thank you Susan & Phil.

Spotlessly clean cottage, everything you need in the kitchen, really comfy bed and excellent shower.

Excellent location for visiting the North Cotswolds. Located in a lovely village

We had the most enjoyable holiday perfect cottage, perfect location, and extremely perfect weather.

Susan and Phil were extremely helpful and made us feel welcome in every way. We were mixing our holiday with a family christening and this was the perfect place to be we would definitely book Bears Cottage again Anne and Tom Wheeler

Really lovely place to stay.

Immaculate and characterful - and everything thought of for our comfort.

Excellent and cosy property, well fitted out, and in an ideal place to explore the Cotswolds.

The owners, Susan and Phil, have done a great job in renovating this stone built cottage.

The cottage was comfortable and very thoughtfully equipped.

We had all the information we needed on the appliances and on the facilities in the area. We appreciated the phone call to check we had arrived safely and had everything we needed.

We loved our stay here.

It was clean, cosy, comfy, well appointed and the village was lovely!

Lovely, helpful and attentive and hosts.

Stayed over Xmas and a nice tree was provided. Great cottage location with a great community shop on the doorstep and nearby pub.

Wonderful stay in Bear's Cottage.

A really lovely old cottage, very clean with everything we needed. It is set in a quiet village close to community shop, 13th century church and pub. It is an ideal place to stay for visiting the Cotswolds. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Bear’s cottage, it was clean, cosy and had everything we needed.

The location was quiet and perfect to access the whole of the Cotswolds. We would definitely return.

The cottage exceeded all expectations , it has been sympathetically restored to the highest possible level , the furniture , appliances even down to the bed linen were of the highest standard .

It really was a beautiful home from home in every way . Many holiday let properties are equipped fairly basically this cottage is a credit to the owners , it was superb . The location was excellent , we visited Worcester , Stratford upon Avon , Bourton on the water , chipping Camden and other cotswold villages none of which were more than a 30 min car journey . The village pub “ the fleece inn “ was a warm welcoming place , we visited it four times during our stay including dining al fresco in a “ horse box “ on the pub lawn , different but fun ! And the pub Sunday lunch was also very good. All in all an excellent stay in a “ perfect “ cottage in a quaint lovely cotswolds village . We will re visit .

This is a beautiful cottage, which has been lovingly restored to a very high standard, in a lovely village, with a great pub and friendly people.

In addition, it is conveniently located to access the Cotswolds and other areas of interest.

We had a lovely week at Bear's Cottage.

There was everything we needed in the property, plus a welcome pack when we arrived, which was much appreciated. Everything was spotless and the owners sent us a copy of the cleaning regime, which was very thoughtful. There is lots to see in the area, and most places are only about 30 minutes each way so we filled the week very easily. The Fleece Inn is a great place for a meal. The little garden is a nice place to sit and listen to the birds. We had a great week and would definitely recommend Bear's Cottage.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely village.

Stunning front garden which we used a lot during our stay - breakfasts & snacky evening meals sat around the table in the sunshine. A real home from home and Susan & Phil were the perfect hosts. Welcome supplies on arrival with a bottle of wine & welcome card. The best shower I’ve ever seen / used, absolutely huge ! Great selection of books / DVDs available with magazines in the lounge. Look out for the birds and ladybird in the dining room & another very well behaved bird sat amongst the bush at the far end of the garden (it took me a few minutes to realise I was talking to an imitation bird !). Beds super comfy, slept like a log after getting used to the church clock chiming day & night ! Everywhere done to a very high standard - very interesting to look at the photo albums to show transformation of cottage to its current glory. Kitchen great too, everything you could possibly need. Washing machine very handy and plenty of sunshine to get clothes dry outside. Local community shop just across the road for picking up some supplies. Great base for exploring local area - we went to Bourton on the Water, Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Campden, Evesham. We will definitely return to stay at Bear’s Cottage. Thank you Susan & Phil for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful cottage as per the description.

Only very minor problem I personally encountered was I didn't want to leave. The garden is beautiful and the entire neighbourhood is friendly and always greets you with a smile. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped and incredibly clean, as was the entire house. Instructions to use all appliances kept neatly in a folder with some wonderful facts about the area....such as the hauting of the local cemetery. A fantastic holiday and a joy to stay here. We will be going back

The Cottage was spotless, and well equiped and although because of covid we did not get the chance to meet Susan And Phil the owners, we spoke on the phone and by e,mail and they seemed like very nice people.

We ate every night in the local pub ( a 5 min walk away) which amongst other meals, served a variety of award winning pies and ales. The local shop was just across the road, and Bretforton is lovely quite village but ideally suited to visit all the popular sites of the Cotswold. We had a lovely time and would not hesitate to return to Bear Cottage

This is a beautiful old cottage, tastefully and sympathetically restored to provide excellent holiday accommodation.

It’s superbly located in the heart of a lovely village, and is a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds and Vale of Evesham. Highly recommended.

We arrived home last weekend, having had a lovely relaxing week at Bear’s Cottage.

It’s a beautiful cottage that has been renovated so tastefully, without removing the character feel.It was very clean, had everything you would need-plus more! The welcome goodies of milk, cookies and wine were very much appreciated. It’s in the heart of the village with a Community shop across the road and local pub less than 5 minutes walk. We’ve stayed in other cottages in the Cotswolds, but Bears cottage is number 1 for us. Phil & Sue, you should be proud of all your hard work - we enjoyed looking at your renovation photographs ! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Loved our stay at Bear Cottage with my husband and two teenage boys.

The owners were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate a special request for us. The cottage itself was immaculate and comfortable and had everything we needed for our week. We loved sitting in the garden in the morning to enjoy the peace and quiet over a cuppa and on an evening with a glass of wine. The village is small and beautiful and in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. The pub is just a minutes walk away and the locals were very friendly. We could definitely recommend Bear Cottage to family and friends.

Bear's Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location.

The place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Although the weather wasn't great for our week, we made the most of it and visited quite a few places. The cottage is conveniently situated, there's a handy village shop just over the road and the local pub, 'The Fleece Inn' is just around the corner. There are also several National Trust places close by. All in all we had a great time, thank you.

Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage.

Quiet location. Pretty garden. Plenty of street parking. Had a very pleasant stay and would recommend.

A lovely well equipped cottage.

Great attention to detail and everything we needed. A lovely welcome pack, thank you. It's a great location in a very pretty village. Peaceful and yet easy to get to many places of interest. Highly recommend it.

Susan and Phil, the owners of Bear's Cottage, have gone above and beyond in every way.

Apart from the cottage having been lovingly renovated to a very high standard and totally in keeping with its age, they left us a card wishing us a happy stay along with some cookies, and Phil popped round on the first afternoon to make sure we had everything we needed and explain a couple of things in the welcome pack. Because of an e-mail exchange I'd had with Susan regarding our love for teddy bears, they had even left a couple of bears waiting to welcome us - a really lovely, personal touch. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and for me the hardest thing was having to leave to come home! Bretforton itself is a lovely little village with a local pub, The Fleece Inn, which offers a yummy Sunday roast (it gets busy so booking is advised) and there's a small but well-stocked village shop. The village is in a great location for visiting places like Evesham, Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway and so on. Thank you, Susan and Phil, for letting us use the wonderful Bear's Cottage for the week; we absolutely loved it, and having rented a few properties over the years I can confidently say this has been the best so far.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bears cottage for our first year wedding anniversary.

The cottage was beautifully presented, immaculate and had everything you needed. I would recommend anybody to stop here as it is close to surrounding areas for walks or village visits such as broadway and Stratford upon Avon. It was lovely to come home to a beautiful warm cottage in a beautiful little village with a very close access to a shop, community club and the fleece pub (a must visit). Thank you for letting us stop in your little piece of heaven.

Great little cottage, smelt clean, was very clean, characterful pub easy easy walking distance.

Comfortable bed and cottage close for other villages/towns

Outstanding area, lovely vilage, ancient church with friendly congregation next door, good olde worlde pub a few yards away.

Good shop and clubhouse right opposite. Quiet and very peaceful. Places like Stratford on Avon, Tewkesbury, Broadway, Bourton on the Water, Evesham close. Very good roads. Not too far from M5 and M42/40.

Bretfortan is a lovely village the locals are very friendly.

Bear cottage is an absolute delight we could not fault anything about it. It has a super small garden great to sit in on a sunny day. The bed is extremely comfortable, and there is a terrific shower. The owners have gone out of their way to blend traditional and modern , and it works. To cap it all the 14th century Fleece pub is just around the corner. We had a wonderful break there and if we go to the area again we would certainly try to rent this cottage.

This cottage is beautifully restored and is very well-appointed and immaculately clean.

The village of Bretforton is a gem and the cottage is perfectly located within it, overlooking the churchyard and less than 1 minute's walk from the charming community-run general store. For those who are visiting the Cotswolds for the first time - as we were - staying here is the perfect introduction to it!

Really lovely cottage, decorated and cleaned to a very good standard.

We had an excellent stay.

Beautiful property, clean, very comfortable bed and home away from home. This cottage had everything we can ask for and nothing we could fault. Loved the area, fantastic location and beautiful village. Definitely we will stay again.

Bear’s Cottage is located in the peaceful village of Bretforton.

We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. Tastefully decorated to the highest of standards, exceptionally clean and well equipped, this lovely cottage had everything we needed for our well deserved family holiday. The owners are a delight and very approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

Our stay at Bear's Cottage was wonderful and the beautiful location in the village is perfect with a shop and great pub on your doorstep.

The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard with great attention to detail and seemingly no expense spared. Every room was furnished beautifully and so well cared for that we thought we must have been the first to stay there. The owners took great care to ensure we had everything we needed and provided lots of good local information too. A wonderful base to explore the Cotswold's with plenty to see and do. We look forward to returning soon.

Delightful cottage in a lovely village.

Shop and pub minutes away. Plenty to do in the local area. Owners very helpful.

Bear's Cottage is a very comfortable, immaculate cottage in a lovely, unspoilt village in Worcestershire.

The equipment in the kitchen was of a high standard and all spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also beautifully kept with a brilliantly easy shower. The village is handy for many of the Cotswold villages and attractions, such as Broadway, Chipping Camden, Moreton-in-Marsh and the nearby Batsford Arboretum and garden centre on the A44. The village has a very handy shop and a truly characterful pub, The Fleece. All in all, a good place to relax and tour the area.

Bear's Cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped to a very high standard and is very comfortable.

Bretforton is pretty and the locals are friendly, with a well stocked community shop opposite and the location is good for visits to the Cotswold villages. Phil paid us a brief 'welcome' visit shortly after arrival and Susan had left us a delicious home made fruit cake which we enjoyed each afternoon in the pretty cottage garden. After a hectic few days sightseeing we decided our last day would be spent "at home" in Bear's Cottage. What better recommendation could you have than that?

The cottage has been restored to a very high standard by the owners and they have considered all the little extras to make your stay more comfortable (a special thank-you for the homemade cake!

).. The cottage and garden is beautiful and is set in a friendly and thriving village, with plenty to see and do in with the surrounding area. We will definitely be returning!

Bear Cottage was a delightful holiday home.

It was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and comfortable. Bretforton was a friendly village with lots activities. There were many lovely places to visit nearby. The owners Susan & Phil were welcoming and helpful.

Recently renovated and beautifully decorated cottage in a friendly village.

Great cottage, great village, book ahead if you want to eat in The Old Fleece.
