“We had a very relaxing and cosy time.”

The cottage and garden were a bit smaller than the photos suggested but that’s the art of photography! We were only 2 adults so it was fine and we were able to take 3 dogs, 1 large, 1 medium large and one medium which was fantastic as a lot of places won’t take 3 dogs. The owners lived next-door and were helpful but not in anyway obtrusive. Lots of information in the cottage about walks and pubs etc. So many books, DVDs (inc the Holiday!) and games. Also short and longer walks around the cottage so really you wouldn’t need to leave the house so long as you had enough food! Welcome basket too which was very welcome. Lovely Victoria sponge cake.

The welcome hamper and all the Christmas decorations were such a nice touch. We enjoyed nights in with board games and films infront of the open fire. The location is also great and we really enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas. We would definitley stay again in the future.

“We had two weeks at Hadcroft Cottage for an early Christmas break with my elderly Mother and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

This is the epitome of a classic, cozy country cottage, and the the Christmas decorations and welcome hamper added significantly to the experience. Nothing here is forgotten, from DVD's, to CD's, Books, Games, Jig Saw puzzles. I am sure this cottage is great all year round, but near Christmas it is to die for. The cottage is also very well situated. A quick trip to Moreton in Marsh railway station gives a 35 minute ride to Worcester or Oxford, with no worrying about parking in the cities. Everything else in the North Cotswolds is a few minutes drive away. The highlight of our trip was visiting the wonderful theatre at Cheltenham, and seeing the Buddy Holly Story - just fabulous. We want to thank Rob & Julie for their kindness and service. A truly magical stay in a magical cottage in a magical area!!

“Having traveled the world, and just recently adopted a dog It was time to discover what great delights England could offer Hadcroft Cottage is cozy, charming, and bursting with character.”

It's central to several quaint villages and plenty of public footpaths to explore with your four legged furry friends. Rob and Julie (Owners) are major dog lovers themselves, and made Theo (my dog) and myself feel very welcome. Along with an excellent welcome basket.......The property also has a wide selection of books, DVDs, board games which helps pass the time in the evenings. Really enjoyed my time at the property, and I would highly recommended it to anybody.

“Everything about our holiday was wonderful.”

We were lucky enough to have sunshine all the time we were there. The welcome, by the owner, was really friendly but not intrusive. Loved the fact they also had dogs and our cottage and garden were completely separate and our garden very well dog-proofed. The sponge cake was scrumpcious and there was also a well-stocked welcome basket with a very nice wine and home made bread and other welcome additions! Equipment in the cottage and the furniture was of a very high standard. We lit the fire on the first evening although the cottage was very warm from the central heating. It was just so lovely to eat dinner at the table in the kitchen diner and see the fire burning through the door to the lounge and play games by the fire later. We really enjoyed the walks and there was an excellent information pack about walks, pubs and restaurants and those we tried were great. We knew the cotswolds well before our visit but now we know it even better and our doggies enjoyed a real holiday adventure.

Rob and Julie, the owners, are lovely people and rescued dog lovers like us so we got on very well. The cottage was beautifully situated with some lovely walks from the door step. “Absolutely smashing cottage in a lovely location.”

Beautiful private garden which our two dogs enjoyed enormously. The owners, Rob and Julie were delightful and the Victoria sponge which was in the generous welcome basked was amazing. Very large collection of current glossy magazines (at least 20) and large collection of DVD's and books. Will certainly go back again. Have recommended to friends already.

The location of the property was really handy for Morton in The March and picking up routes to visit a fabulous selection of NT properties, lovely villages and countryside and Blenheim Palace, so we were never short of somewhere to explore. Highly recommended.

The house was lovely and warm on arrival, with a thoughtful and very useful welcome pack . The facilities were excellent with every possible need catered for, beds were comfortable, the lounge boasted a log fire if needed and the kitchen extremely well equipped . Outside was peaceful , the garden and wood relaxing, with a wealth of birds to enjoy, about their Spring activities, a woodpecker visited the apple tree in the garden most days . The soft cooing of doves in the background was pleasant and very soothing. The position of the cottage in relation to surrounding places of interest was very convenient and we didn't have to travel far before we found ourselves in the middle of beautiful Cotswold scenery and villages . The owners visited initially to ensure all was well and were on hand to answer any queries which might arise and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hadcroft Cottage to future guests. It has a really cosy living room, our bed was super comfy, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked and the gorgeous garden was very secure so our two dogs could run around safely. The owners are very obviously animal lovers. The interior decoration is really well done and there are lots of books, games and dvds to choose from. We have rented many cottages and this is by far one of the best. Highly recommended.

“This was a beautiful holiday cottage set in a lovely quiet village and very central to lots of quaint Cotswold villages.”

We’ve visited the Cotswolds on a number of occasions and feel after our week at Hadcroft that we know the surrounding area very well indeed. The cottage was so well equipped we wanted for nothing (oh apart from a potato peeler so we bought one and left it for future visitors to use!) It was so lovely and cosy and the fire was beautiful each night. The owners had decorated it for Christmas too so that was a lovely touch. The rain didn’t bother us as there were so many DVD’s and books to borrow so it was nice just to bunk down for the afternoon with a glass of wine and a good film. Would highly recommend a holiday here and have in fact already suggested it to a friend who has never visited the Cotswolds before. We can’t wait for our next visit!

It's a complete unit, warm, open fire, good sleeping / bedrooms, lovely, comfortable and spacious. Everything i wanted was supplied. How lovely and thoughtful and welcoming! We felt very much at hime here, everything at Hadcroft was first class. There are fabulous walks and the bird life and all the little extras are perfect. Perched in the thick of one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds, Hadcroft Cottage is as quintessential English country cottage as you could imagine.

Inside the cottage is gorgeously cute, with big beams, a huge romantic inglenook fireplace with roaring fire and lovely pine stairs plus the odd 'knick-knack' which give a nod to the cottage's historic past.

Outside your enclosed garden (ideal for the very welcome pooches should you wish to bring them) overlooks the woods, filled with huge, old trees and the sound of birdsong - in fact you're even overlooked by an occupied dovecote!

Not only that but there are three lakes you can trundle down to and fish in*!

WHICHFORD

Whichford is a village in south west Warwickshire, England, about 5 miles southeast of Shipston-on-Stour. The parish adjoins the county boundary with Oxfordshire and the village is about 4 1⁄2 miles) north of the Oxfordshire town of Chipping Norton.
The Domesday Book of 1086 records Wicford as a manor of 15 hides. In a document of about 1130 the name is spelt Wicheforda. Its etymology is not certain but it may mean "Ford of the Hwicce", who were an Anglo-Saxon tribe that settled and founded a kingdom in the area in the latter part of the 6th century AD. The village predominantly consists of quintessential cottages - some which date back to the 1700s - mostly built from local Honnington stone: giving a golden, reddish warmth.
Whichford is situated within a triangle of ancient market towns which include Chipping Norton (6 miles), Shipston on Stour (7 miles) and Moreton in Marsh (11 miles). The town of Stratford upon Avon is also within close proximity, a popular destination owing to its status as the birthplace of English poet and playwright William Shakespeare and which provides a host of useful amenities and attractions (not least of which is The Royal Shakespeare Company’s consistently impressive theatrical output).
On the broad expanse of green at Whichford is the Norman Knight public house, which has won the CAMRA Regional Pub of the Year award twice and is a perfect meeting place within the village. Also within the village is Whichford Pottery, a family run business which started in 1976 and that now has a team of 30 people who make a wide range of English flowerpots using traditional hand-thrown and hand-pressed methods. About 2 miles from Whichford you will find The Rollright Stones, a series of ancient stone circles, dating back to approximately 3,500 B.C. Possibly of a little more interest to some; 3 miles from Whichford lies the town of Hook Norton, which retains one of only 32 family run breweries in the country. The brewery tour is highly recommended!! Throughout the year residents gather at St Michael's church, which sits within Whichford but is only a half-mile walk from the hamlet of Ascott. One of the highlights of this community is the annual Whichford and Ascott Flower Show on August Bank Holiday, a traditional village fete with cream teas, country music and dancing on the green, with festivities continuing well into the night
