Lovely cosy cottage in a great location

We really enjoyed our stay and there was everything you would need provided.

Milk, tea bags and coffee sachets etc to make a hot drink when you arrive. Such a lovely location and visited Sudeley, Gloucester, Forest of Dean sculpture walk & Cotswolds designer outlet that welcomed our dog. What makes a lovely holiday is having such lovely hosts, Margaret and Brian who welcomed us when we got there and met Yogi a lovely big Newfoundland. A big thank you Margaret & Brian as we left as friends and would definitely return.

Margaret and Brian were extremely welcoming and helpful.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, with everything you could need. A completely safe garden for our Two curious Jack Russells. We were given access to a field for dog runs. We will definitely return again.

We had a lovely stay at Lawn lodge.

On our arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome from Margaret and Brian who were on hand if needed. The lodge was comfortable, well presented and had everything we needed to make it an enjoyable stay, including a secure garden which are 2 collies thoroughly enjoyed. It is ideally situated having the Forest of Dean, Malvern hills and more places all in the local area. We will definitely be returning to Lawn lodge in the future

Margaret and Brian are excellent hosts.

We had a great time at Lawn Lodge. So quiet A real tonic. The poppies in the garden were a joy. The roses were too.

A lovely warm, clean and welcoming cottage with plenty of, very secure, room for Diego and Caty (daft name for a Chihuahua) to explore.

I had several pleasant walks across the fields and down to The Hub where I enjoyed a Full English Breakfast on my Birthday. Hilary commented on the comfort of the bed and, particular, the pillows. Many thanks Margaret and Brian - We really hope to return next year.

Comfortable accommodation near a quiet village.

Lovely owners near by if help needed but property felt private. Very dog friendly with secure front garden and access to a field. We used the car to access longer walks. Nice pub and cafe a few minutes drive away.

What a lovely reception from the owners.

The Lodge was excellent, everything you needed, home from home. Great garden space for our 2 collies, they loved the field running and playing. Great location for the Cotswolds and Wales. Would definitely recommend. The Ferris family

Good base to get to many different places.

Bed was very comfy. Most of the appliances were easy to use. Nice the owners had left some milk , tea bags, coffee sachet's and biscuits. Can’t give it 5* bc of all the cobwebs/dust but which home hasn’t? Directions were a little out via satnav so look for the cones and Lawn Lodge sign. The owners were on hand if anything was needed but weren’t intrusive.

Lawn Lodge was wonderful, everything was great.

There was all the equipment you could need and the lodge was warm, comfortable and nice and quiet. Margaret and Brian were welcoming, friendly and helpful but also being intrusive .. brilliant hosts. The garden was ideal for our little dog, safe and spacious, she loved it. The area is lovely, lots of nice walks and plenty of places to visit. We would most certainly like to go again.

Margaret the property owner who lives next door is an absolutely lovely lady who is so helpful. The property is a in a lovely quiet location so if it's peace and quiet you want this is the property. We will be staying at Lawn Cottage again.

We loved our stay, felt like a home from home.

Our dog enjoyed having so much space in the secure garden and how quiet it was. The fence was perfect for our dog as he could see out but not jump it. You'd need to keep a closer eye if you have bigger dogs that are known to jump fences. The hosts are wonderful and we loved their dogs too. The property is well equipped, and it's warm and light. We especially liked the two windows in the bedroom that face out of the front and the rear of the property. Dark skies at night and very rural, but still only a 15 minute drive to Gloucester if you need something (or want a Taco Bell...)

Lovely, clean accommodation in a perfect location.

The enclosed garden was perfect for letting our dog out. The accommodation was extremely well equipped which is always welcome. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The owners are friendly and helpful. They are there if you need them but your privacy is respected. A perfect little bolthole and very dog friendly. Would love to stay again

We had a warm welcome on arrival.

The Bungalow was very comfortable with all necessary amenities. Dog friendly with spacious garden and fields for him to run around. Would highly recommend.

Very peaceful and a good base for visiting all the surrounding areas. The steam train from Cheltenham race course to Broadway is a good day out and the food docks in Gloucester are worth a visit.

A beautiful little bungalow set in amongst lovely scenery.

We did not do much sightseeing as it was so relaxing and peaceful here.Margaret was such a thoughtful person and even left treats for our doggy ,All in all the perfect place for a restful holiday.

The bed was comfortable.

So we slept very well.parking on the driveway was brilliant. Location is fantastic quiet but everything to visit is nearby. It is very clean. We will return next year. Thank you Margaret and Brian.we had a wonderful time.

A beautiful, peaceful setting among farmland and meadows with plenty of space for parking and a large front garden.

A bird lovers paradise! The lodge was a comfortable and well equipped place to relax with everything we needed, and the owners (and their gorgeous dog) were very friendly and keen for us to enjoy our holiday. It’s in a good position for touring to the Forest of Dean as well as interesting old towns like Ledbury, Gloucester and Tewksbury. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Lawn Lodge.

THE COTTAGE WAS VERY CLEAN AND VERY GOOD THE ONLY THING WAS THE BED IT WAS NOT VERY COMFORTABLE IT COULD DO WITH A TOPPER ON THE MATTRESS OR A NEW MATTRESS.

and Mrs. Cooper are wonderful, they really make you feel at home. Lawn Lodge isn't large but it was big enough for us, beautifully clean and has been well maintained. As we live in the country we appreciate the quiet, the birds and deer in the paddock make it so refreshingly beautiful. Many thanks for our stay, Mel & Marilyn Dyson.

I had a realy great stay any one who stay there will have a quiet break

We spent a pleasant 5 nights at Lawn Lodge, it was secure, peaceful, cozy & warm due to the heaters & underfloor heating.

Well appointed with everything we needed, & on one floor which suited us as hubby battles with stairs. Plenty parking & pretty enclosed garden for our dog to run around. Friendly & helpful owners who live next door with their two gorgeous Newfoundland doggies (on the other side of the fence) !! Only little downside was the bed which was a bit bouncy when one turned over, however we did sleep ok ! Perhaps a new firmer base & mattress would be a future plan? Would definitely recommend Lawn Lodge. Cynthia.

Warm welcome from Margaret and Brian.

The Lodge had everything that you would need including underfloor heating which was needed on cool nights. A clean and fresh property in the heart of Cotswold country. A visit from a deer in the nearby field was an added bonus. Ample parking.

Location of this beautiful cottage in the country was a real joy to wake up on the mornings.

Easy to get to Gloucester and surrounding areas , Hosts could not do enough to make one stay such a wonderful experience. Recommended 100% Marion and John

A lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country.

This is the second time we have stayed at Lawn Lodge and it won’t be the last. Brian and Margaret make you feel most welcome,not forgetting their two dogs who also join in welcoming you.The large garden which is completely secure is a perfect play area for our canine friends . A quiet and tranquil holiday home,which is a perfect centre for the exploration of the surrounding areas.

Welcoming hosts and a well equipped cottage to meet all needs. Had such a relaxing time, great walks for the dog on the doorstep and situated just a short drive to the Forest Of Dean, Tewkesbury and Gloucester Docks all of which are so dog friendly so again just the perfect time!

The owners were very welcoming and so were their lovely Newfoundland dogs. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and well equipped plus beautifully peaceful. Our Sheltie also enjoyed the garden surrounding the cottage. The icing on the cake was looking out of the bedroom window to see a herd of young wild deer grazing in the field behind the house. Thank you Margaret and Brian for a lovely break.

Absolutely lovely cottage and owners.

Everything you could possibly want in the cottage. The owners checked we were ok on arrival and were available but discreet during stay. We will definitely be back.

We were greeted over the fence by the owner on our arrival and she was polite and welcoming and then left us to get settled in.

The garden was pretty and was also dog friendly and secure. It had been raining heavily that day, but it was somewhat off putting to find that the septic tank for the cottage was in the garden near the property and was obviously not functioning properly, as the smell of sewerage was overpowering and the noise of the processing motor was quite intrusive, meaning that we needed to sleep with all the windows closed to keep the smell and the noise to a minimum. When we explored the cottage on arrival everything appeared to be clean and comfortable, with a pint of milk and some biscuits plus chews for the dog left for us, which was certainly appreciated. Unfortunately, when we turned back the bed there were several hairs on the sheet and a long blonde one on the pillow and on going into the bathroom we found several short, dark, curly hairs in the bath! It was also quite annoying that the inner front door was extremely stiff and tricky to open, literally requiring a concerted effort both to push the handle down and then to push the door itself open. The internet signal strength at this property was so poor as to be virtually useless, but maybe we hit a bad week as when we mentioned this problem to the owner she just said she'd not had any complaints from other guests. The one huge problem which completely ruined our whole holiday, though was when, on day 2, the owner shouted and swore at us over the fence, refusing to listen to any answers or apologies from us for something that we had already settled with the other owner a few minutes earlier! The genuine mistake that we had made, simply because the previous 6 properties we have stayed at have had no problem whatsoever with it, was to top up our electric vehicle charge using a genuine BMW slow charger, which plugs into a normal household socket, like any household appliance. (As an aside, the terms on the booking sheet clearly state that all electricity is included in the price paid!) We were totally taken aback at Brian's aggressive tirade and to say we were upset and angry is an understatement! This holiday had been meant to be a special celebration of our wedding anniversary and my birthday but we spent the rest of it feeling intimidated and unwelcome, finding excuses every day to delay going back to the cottage in case the owner was once again waiting at the fence! Ashleworth is a beautiful area and perfectly situated for exploring the locality, but needless to say we won't be coming back to Lawn Lodge!

We loved staying here everything was perfect on a lovely quiet road with brilliant views and very handy for all the places we wanted to visit.

The owners were great and if we needed anything we were just asked to phone them.

Situated in a peaceful area with lots of local walks and cycling. Well positioned to get to other areas of the Cotswolds.

Some adverse comment in respect to kitchen area appeared prior to our visit which we found to be not justified, facilities provided in this respect we found to be satisfactory.

Overall the welcome was most warm, We would return without doubt on our next holiday in Gloucestershire.

Excellent little cottage, very clean.

It was home from home. Lovely friendly owners, who were available if you needed help. A good central spot for touring.

The kitchen was very disappointing.

There was no coffee pot - although I'd been told this before setting off and had taken my own. Although there were a couple of shallow baking trays, weirdly wrapped in tin foil, and some foil containers that might have come from a take-away, there was no casserole for use in the oven and no oven-proof vegetable dish. I finished up buying what I needed - an expense I should not have had to bear. In other respects, the cottage was comfortable and it was very well located.

Without a dishwasher the sink could do with a dish drainer.

The WiFi was not functioning the owners were struggling to get BT to fix it and offered the use of their own PC to try and help but this is not really an answer. The listing should be amended to no WiFi until it is fixed properly. It is a lovely cottage though with beautiful countryside all around.

This little bungalow felt like home straight away.

As a sole traveller I sometimes find myself paying for somewhere bigger than I need but this was just right. Located 15/20 minutes by car from Ledbury, Gloucester and Tewkesbury it is in an ideal location. Lawn Cottage was equipped with everything I needed including power points in the right places, off road parking and good WiFi. It was also warm, very clean and welcoming.

Although I’ve entered ‘met expectations’ there are a few things I think should be pointed out: Both pubs mentioned in property description are closed and have been for some while, but there is an excellent place called ‘The Hub’ in Ashleworth that serves not only as shop/post office but a good cafe/bar as well.

Your website needs updating to show pubs not open. The WiFi at property is very poor - quite often impossible to download/email/use social media. ‘Open plan’ kitchen/dining/sitting area seemed smaller than photographs and would benefit from anti-slip mat under rug, especially on smooth tiled floor! A lamp would also make it more cosy in the evening than glaring overhead spotlights. Electric fire shown in photographs was not in property so there was no form of heating available in sitting room should it have been needed. Upon enquiry with owner it was apparently in shed which she said we could get out if we wanted. Fortunately weather was very good but in late September it is puzzling why it wasn’t in property in case of a chill evening. Final point is that great care is needed when driving out through gates onto Lawn Road. Hedging makes it difficult to see speeding traffic - we nearly had the bonnet of our car taken off by a speeding van! Despite these downsides, we had a very enjoyable week as property situated in beautiful countryside so convenient for many places we had not visited before. Very peaceful and garden is very pretty. Owner a nice, pleasant lady but unfortunately the property was a bit of a let down for us.

Everything and more provided. Perfectly situated for Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Wye Valley & Malvern Hills. Ashleworth village is a short walk away, with an excellent Hub/post office/shop/cafe. Highly recommend a stay at Lawn Cottage.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable with a lovely garden to sit in.

If you have a dog, the garden is fully enclosed and has the added bonus of the owners field on the doorstep! There was plenty to do in the area, also a bakery which serve coffee/tea cakes and sausage rolls etc with outside seating - worth a visit. Really enjoyed our stay here.

The cottage is compact and makes it very easy to keep clean.

The owners are a lovely couple and really made us feel welcome. The weather was very hot but unfortunately the fridge does not have a freezer compartment for ice cream, otherwise it was perfect for us.

Location was wonderfully peaceful yet close enough to Gloucester for all shopping requirements.

We would happily stay here again if we wanted to be in the same area.

Perfectly kept cottage.

Kind and welcoming socially distanced owners. Very accommodating in terms of the dog. Could not have been happier with the cottage as was provided. As someone with mobility issues the bungalow was superb. Only difficulty for me was the shower over bath - but we knew about this in advance from initial description - and chose to mitigate. So pleased we did; what a lovely spot - and they let the dog run in their adjacent field. Wonderful stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

A fantastic place to relax

First time exploring this area of the country.

Added bonus was there were two adjacent fields available to excercise my two aged collies.We all enjoyed our break.

Cottage was lovely, very quiet and peaceful.

Shame village pub was closed but easy access to all relevant places of interest. Mrs Collins very helpful on hand next door but never intrusive. If there would be one suggestion it would be that there is no freezer for ice or frozen food but only a minor observation which didn't detract from our enjoyment.

A true 'country cottage' with sounds of the country side all around. Superbly equipped and spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee milk and biscuits left by thoughtful owners. Will visit again.

The owner was very friendly without being intrusive and very willing to suggest places to visit/eat.

Also offered to clean for us after the first week of a two week stay which we accepted but did not expect to be left more tea coffee and biscuits which was very nice. The cottage and gardens were very well maintained with many more items included than we thouggt there would be.

Beautiful area and ideal for walking. Good pubs at Hartpury and Staunton, but unfortunately the local pub in Ashleworth village has recently ceased trading and is now in the process of becoming a private home which we think is a great shame but beyond anyone's control. The other pub, The Boat Inn at Ashleworth Quay does not appear very inspiring at all. The potholes on many of the Gloucestershire main roads were horrendous! All in all, a good holiday and very enjoyable stay thankyou.

Lawn Lodge is a lovely place to stay.

The bungalow has everything you need and is fully stocked. I was impressed with all the extras, I.e. the washing up liquid, the hand soap, tissues and lots more. The location is excellent for visiting Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. I highly recommend this property.

So kind & thoughtful. The cottage was absolutely beautifully furnished & décor! It wasn't cheap 'anything will do' like some cottages, the bathroom was lovely & modern & brilliant shower & beautiful towels. Beautiful bedding, kitchen fantastic & a really lovely touch was that all the little necessities for a self catering holiday were provided in kitchen & bathroom. Fantastic!

The cottage was excellent could not find any faults other than because we went in the hot weather I would have expected a fan to have been in the property to cool it down and make it comfortable for sleeping.

Everything you need is provided and the cottage is surrounded by fields, although it is not far from villages. Very comfortable. Easy access to larger towns. Perfect for a 'get away from it all' break. The owner is delightful and very concerned that all is well with the cottage for your comfort but not intrusive.

was welcomed on arrival, Mrs Collins was at pains to make sure I had everything I needed and then left me to the peace and quiet I required.

However, I knew they were there if I had any problems. The cottage was much better than I expected from the web sight pictures and I appreciated the manuals on all the utilities and the distinct lack of little notes with do's and dont's

The cottage was small but had ample space to move around , it had a large bedroom with double bed wardrobe and drawers with two windows for lots of light at either side ,a nice size bathroom with bath shower over bath wc and basin ,open plan lounge kitchen and dining with everything you needed .

Its setting was wonderful with nothing around you apart from countryside woods and wildlife and with the owners on hand next door .The cottage was is easy reach by car to most places and there was a bus that came past the cottage to the village that you could catch ,in the village was a lovely pub next to river that did food ,for walkers plenty of footpath well marked

Towel rail did not work.

if disabled you can not walk to local pubs as one on main road.The other one narrow road.so may be that could be added as it is a bungalow.

Good scenery within easy reach.

Centrality. Decent bed. Comfortable settee Hadn't got a freezing compartment in the fridge. Most of the cottages we've stayed in haven't, which rules out ice creams at home, doesn't it? It excludes having frozen veg with meals. Information should be included on the listing. And no way of finding out until you get there. So we end up eating out every night which bumps up the price of the cottage by two thirds.
