    “My wife and I had a lovely 5 night stay at The Annex over the Christmas period.”

    The property is immaculate - spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a peaceful location with beautiful outlook from the full length window in the lounge area. We were warmly welcomed by Karen and Michael, the friendly owners, who live close by in the main house - a delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake was also there to greet us along with a small bottle of milk, which was handy. We had full control of the heating so were able to adjust it to our liking. Previous experience of holiday ...

Previous experience of holiday properties has taught us that the comfort of beds can be a matter of personal taste and so we were glad that we took a couple of single mattress toppers with us as the beds seemed a bit on the hard side for our liking. Overall I would say this is one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in and we will certainly be happy to stay here if we visit this area again.

A fresh, wooden-clad bungalow set in a stunning countryside location just outside of Royal Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire.

Couples looking for a relaxing break in the countryside should look no further than The Annex with its excellent facilities and prime location.

Walk into the cottage and enter into the spacious, bright living area with the stylish, well-equipped kitchen in front of you.

The kitchen has contemporary fixtures and fittings as well as more than enough dining furniture should you wish to invite friends over.

This leads onto the uplifting sitting room, with comfortable seating aplenty and delightful views towards the garden and countryside beyond, it is a great spot to sit and watch the TV of an evening.

The Annex also provides two well-presented bedrooms, both with classy en-suite facilities to make you feel right at home.

This cottage also comes with the luxury of a light and airy sun room with plenty of furniture and splendid views.

To the outside of the property, make the most of the extensive lawn and the brilliant views that come with it.

The Annex comes in a wonderfully remote location, with the fantastic town of Royal Wootton Bassett within easy reach, it has beautiful buildings, a wide range of amenities and things to do including a museum.

It comes in a great spot to explore the area of Wiltshire with its incredible scenery and architecture.

The Annex is a delightful bungalow in a beautifully secluded spot.

About the location

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT

Swindon 6.7 miles; Malmesbury 10.7 miles; Bath 31 miles.

Situated at the southern end of the Cotswold Hills, in rural northern Wiltshire and close to the border with Gloucestershire, the friendly market town of Royal Wootton Bassett can be found. The town was granted Royal patronage in 2011, due to the part it played in the repatriation of military personnel who sadly lost their lives serving their country overseas. It boasts a weekly market and offers a good selection of local shops and inns, providing an ideal touring base from which to explore the attractions of Wiltshire and beyond. The town is close to the historic Lydiard Park, Bowood and Longleat, with the ancient sites of Avebury and Stonehenge nearby. The coastal resorts of Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are just over an hour's drive for anyone wanting to dip their toes in the sea. Visit the charming town of Malmesbury and the Cotswold Water Park and with the historic cities of Bath, Oxford and Salisbury all easily accessible, this area really makes an interesting touring centre at any time of the year.
