Cirencester holiday cottages

Cirencester is among the largest towns in the Cotswolds and as such, it is home to all the major chain stores and major brand restaurant as well as some wonderful independent stores and eateries.

cirencester-black-jack-street.pngWith such an extensive town centre, the surrounding areas are a mix of wonderful, vibrant villages full of small shops and great dining pubs and cafes. When you book your holiday cottage near Cirencester you will not be short of great places to see and interesting things to do.

In the heart of Cirencester is the home of the 9th Earl Bathurst, Cirencester Park, a wonderful public park surrounding the residence. Earl and Lady Bathurst (affectionately known only as Lady B), run the 15,500 acre countryside estate which includes several villages as well as Pinbury Park which famously lays claim to being the main source of the River Thames. Both Earl and Lady Bathurst are keen conservationists tirelessly campaigning for rural countryside preservation.

cotswold-show.pngSince 1989 Cirencester Park has been home to the yearly two-day event, The Cotswold Show. Earl Bathurst had a vision of an event “Where Town Meets Country” and supported by the locals and a number of other organisers, he set up The Cotswold Show and he still, after 25+ years, works on the promotion of respect and understanding of the countryside and country issues. If you're in the Cotswolds the first weekend of July, we happily recommend The Cotswold Show with some 200 trade stands and the celebration of all things country.
