“The location is wonderful for visiting many beautiful areas,The Cotswolds,Bath,Nearby Gloucester and Somerset.”
The little pony and the sheep in the paddock next door to the cottage were lovely. Comedy cottage is very pretty to look at and certainly it is pleasant to sit outside of an evening. Unfortunately, for us,we found comedy cottage uncomfortable to stay inside for the following reasons which could be rectified to make a more positive experience for guests. We found there was no privacy with the staff walking past frequently to and from the attached shed for gardening equipment,as the doors are so big it's very easy to see into the entire downstairs and we could not relax, yes we could shut the big barn doors but it was extremely hot and sunny.putting some obscuring film on the doors,or tinted glass, would make the downstairs more private and hopefully keep it cooler.Upstairs was more comfortable by far but up under the eaves it was uncomfortably hot and with only one fan for the whole place we had to keep moving it room to room.air conditioning would be great. Nowhere to sun bathe due to lack of privacy,as well as staff tending to shrubbery, there were staff cleaning out a van with a very loud radio, the dog being walked by,deliveries arriving outside the doors. To avoid this is to go out or sit and melt upstairs.I'm not sure what the answer is to the privacy and hopefully to many it won't matter if out all day . The welcome pack of bread butter, milk and biscuits were very welcome, thank you.I would advise on the listing to bring everything else which in other cottages are usually present,a few tea bags, salt, pepper, tissues,a couple of coffee sachets, tin foil etc,. We picked up the dog poo as always but didn't know where to put it,perhaps a small dog poo bin somewhere? We stripped the bed as requested(no pillow or duvet protection
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We have passed your comments onto the owner, who is disappointed that you didn’t mention some of the things at the time as she is always very happy to help and would like all her guests to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The property description does state that the cottage is situated within the grounds of the owner’s house with 4 acres available for guests to use. The gardener visits on a Monday and as there are no other staff working in the grounds, the owner can suggest a secluded spot to sunbathe. Unfortunately, the van was situated in a neighbouring property and the owner is sorry that you were disturbed and would happily have requested that they turn the radio down. Although the owner does walk down the drive on the way to taking her dog out for a walk, she always tries to skirt away from the cottage as far as possible, so as not to disturb guests. A supply of tea bags, salt and pepper are available in the property and the beds do have pillow and mattress protectors. We do hope you had the opportunity to visit the lovely areas surrounding the property.
