Broadwell, Stow on the Wold, Stow on the Wold & surrounding area
Temple Mews (Visit Britain 4 stars) is an absolutely delightful holiday home converted from an old Cotswolds farm building. It is situated in the lovely and traditional Cotswolds' village of Broadwell, itself just 2 miles from the popular market towns of Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh. Internally, the property has been beautifully converted to provide a very high standard of self catering accommodation for up to four people, with much thought given to the provision of modern features to make your stay welcoming and comfortable. The accommodation is located on the first floor of the building (via 10 steps). Externally, it enjoys a very peaceful location, tucked down a quiet and private driveway and overlooks, and use of, an enclosed garden to the rear. A short walk away is the well established Fox Inn, serving food and local ales. In our opinion Temple Mews provides a wonderful country retreat in complete peace and yet within a short distance of two of the Cotswolds most delightful market towns.

Broadwell is a very traditional Cotswold village, comprising the classic Village Pub over looking the green with its little stream/ford plus a delightful mix of typical Cotswold cottages and houses. The village sits towards the bottom of a small valley (near to the River Evenlode) and is about 1.5 miles from Stow on the Wold. Beyond the green is the attractive Georgian manor house. Broadwell is, reputedly, mentioned in the Domesday Book, when at that time it had 46 inhabitants!
The pub, The Fox, is owned by the local brewery, and provides a very warm welcome along with good food. On a summer evening, there is no better spot to be!! With Stow literally 3 mins in the car, all your needs are close by, incl large Supermarket, restaurants, shops, cafes and more pubs.
Broadwell is a great base to explore more of the Cotswolds including Broadway, Moreton in the Marsh, Stratford Upon Avon and Bourton on the Water, all of which are within drives of about 20 mins max. There are some excellent walks from the door, especially those that take in the footpaths along the River Evenlode.
"This our second visit to Temple Mews and I think that that says a lot. The cottage is in a small, rural village which is very peaceful. The owners, Peter & Trish are very welcoming & friendly. The welcome pack was full of delicious goodies, we particularly enjoyed the bacon & eggs! Temple Mews is the perfect antidote to a busy, stressful life!"Mrs Coletta 2016-10-04
