Foscot is a small hamlet nestling next to the stunning village of Bledington, itself in the broad valley of the River Evenlode, all very close to the famous Cotswold town of Stow on the Wold. Foscot and Bledington lies on the Oxfordshire Way walk (it actually runs through Foxcote Farm (within the same ownership). This walk will take you up on to the wolds via Wyck Beacon and down to Bourton-on-the-Water, or south-eastwards down the valley to Bruern Abbey and onto Shipston-under-Wychwood. Either way it is a delightful walk.
For those thinking 'food' the excellent 'Kings Head' pub is in Bledington and about 10 mins walk away, and for the wine connoisseur there is the Horse and Groom at Oddington, which provides a great welcome along with many others in the surrounding villages. Nearby Kingham (The Mill, The Plough and The Wild Rabbit) also has a first class Village Shop PLUS a train station direct to Oxford and London Paddington. The famed Daylesford Organic Farmshop is a great visit and is just 3 miles away.
The University Town of Oxford, Regency Cheltenham & Stratford upon Avon are all easily accessible days out for racing, the theatre, museums & great shopping including Bicester Village Outlet. The Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon is approximately 50 Minutes away together with the Land Rover Experience & all can make a fun day out.
