The Old School House is exactly as it says it is! Set within the original school building this spacious property is perfect for a couple looking to retreat to one of the Cotswolds' most attractive market towns. Superb pubs, bars and restuarants are within minutes walk, and yet in the other direction you in the famous Cotswolds' countryside too. Inside, the property is a light and bright apartment, with the huge mullion window dominating the living space, which literally throws light into the open plan living space and (upstairs) bedroom! In fact you can lie in bed and look across the roof tops of Stow into the countryside. The owner has taken care to furnish the home in a very comfortable style and ensure that it is well equipped for your stay. Stow on the Wold is one the the Cotswolds' most famous and popular market towns. It has a host of restaurants, cafes and shops. From the famous Huffkins Tea Room serving its renowned lardy cakes (yes really!) to the smart Sheep a smart restaurant that serves food from sunrise to sunset Stow has something for everyone. The are a host of other shops to visit including art galleries and antique shops - but above all you are in the heart of the wonderful Cotswolds' scenery.
Located on the edge of the Cotswold hills Stow is located in the central Cotswolds' region, approximately 20 mins from Burford, 10 mins from Moreton in Marsh and convenient also for Broadway and Chipping Campden. As you would expect, there are many country walks available from your doorstep. It retains much of the traditional appeal of the region with many period buildings built using the classic mellow Cotswold stone, all surrounded by the world famous Cotswold's countryside. Crammed full of history, The Royalist is probably the country's oldest inn, dating back to 947AD whilst Charles I stayed at the Kings Arms before the battle of Naseby.
The town is full off quirky alleyways and corridoors which are crammed with plenty of shops, cafes/bistros, inns, elegant manor house hotels, charming bed & breakfast accommodation with cosy tea shops to explore. Whats so special is that the majority of these are run by independant owners, all offering unique things that will satisfy the most demanding of tastes .
Beyond Stow you have Daylesford Organic Store the famous and popular shopping haunt which is about 10 mins drive from your door where you can treat yourself wildly to fancy goods or even have a spa or treatment. All very swanky and smart!
