Shipton Moyne, Tetbury & surrounding area
Number 11, Hollywell is absolutely and in every way tasteful, sweet and enjoyable! Recently modernised by the owners who have overseen a careful regeneration of this beautiful Cotswolds' property and created a spacious and sumptuous home that is ideal for couples, families and groups alike given the layout and location. The top-notch kitchen is a cook's delight as well as being light and bright and enjoying a view to the garden. The living room with its wood burning stove is as cosy in the winter as it is gorgeous in the summer. And upstairs are three good size bedrooms and two bathrooms all very smart yet homely.
Outside you've got a large garden, also presented in an immaculate way where kids can knock a ball about. However and perhaps the 'cherry on the cake' for this home is the location in this gorgeous village and the unmistakably named Cat and Custard Pot pub which sits across the street, literally 20 yards away! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this cottage, the pub and the village - in fact given that you have everything here, we can't imagine you wanting to go anywhere else! Tetbury is a few minutes away so you've got some super shops around the corner too.

The Cottage lies in the heart of the village of Shipton Moyne a stunning yet quaint spot just south of Tetbury. The village is a kind of 'no-through-village' where very little in the way of traffic passes through. This makes it both quiet and attractive for familiesgiven that it is a good place to feel to walk and cycle easily. The cottage is on what's called 'The Street' which is the High Street and only street in the village. Nevertheless it benefits from the best named pubs in the country, and one which gets great noteriety: The Cat and Custard! This is literally across the street - ti serves food all day. Surrounding the village is some beautiful countryside.
Shipton lies in-between the two thriving market towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury, a few miles from each. Tetbury is famous thanks to its association with Prince Charles and Highgrove especially but that aside it is a tylical Cotswolds market town with a very good range shops of all sorts; the antique shops are many and people travel to Tetbury from far and wide to pick up bargains from here. The Hobbs House Bakery sells superb breads and cakes and certainly is well worth a visit and the old market place often has daily sales of different items.
Malmesbury is no less quirky and attractive - in fact it is the oldest borough in England, with its Norman abbey and the beautiful Abbey House Gardens.
Beyond these two market towns are a variety of places to visit. VERY close by is Westonbirt, which boasts a famous arboretum with a magnificent tree collection, and which also hosts a variety of events throughout the year. You MUST look to see what is on at the arboretum as the events are well worth a visit and the walks in here are superb.
Bath and Cheltenham are within 20 miles which we love and are world famous as places to vist. .
