Longborough is one of those villages that you'd love to live in.... no through traffic, a lovely local pub, The Coach and Horses, an award winning Village Shop and (wait for it) an Opera Festival that is world renowned. How about that!? Located in the Evenlode Valley and just 2.5 miles from Stow on the Wold and similarly from Moreton in Marsh (train station from London Paddington) it is surrounded by beautiful Cotswolds' countryside. As you would expect there are many walks to enjoy in all directions. The village shop also doubles as a cafe/restaurant with free wifi too.
Given Longborough's location, the popular and similarly attractive Chipping Campden and Broadway are both very easy to get to with their wealth of shops and places to browse and relax. We could go on about the best places to eat, but part of the joy of this area is that you can try them all and decide for yourself!
Walkers will enjoy the footpaths leading from the village and its fabulous and far-reaching views across the valley. Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham with its wonderful shops and racecourse, are both about 20 miles away. Main rail station at Moreton in Marsh for Oxford & London, Paddington (100 mins).
"Lime Cottage was exceptionally attractive, furnished and equipped to a high standard' It answered our need for a ground floor bedroom for my 94 year old mother and warmth from under floor heating under the rustic flagstones and a huge open fireplace complete with a stock of logs. The interesting artworks and antique furniture were well chosen to create the perfect Corswolds cottage but no expense had been spared on the excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds and lighting. We loved Longborough, its delightful pub, village shop and friendly people, not forgetting the 4 donkeys in the field nearby. "Isaac 2017-01-06
