Kitebrook is a small hamlet that sits between Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Norton, set in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds and within a very convenient drive of many of the area's hotspots. From your front door, you can (literally) walk into the countryside and enjoy some superb and breathtaking scenery. The hamlet has no more than a few houses and a school (!) and is therefore very quiet.
Kitebrook is about 2 miles from Moreton in Marsh, a traditional market town which has a wide range of shops, cafes and similar which is well worth a visit. There is a large Budgens, award winning no less, where they sell plenty of local produce. Moreton also has a weekly market, mid-week, which sells a variety of local produce as well as other 'bits and bobs'. Moreton is on the train mainline from London Paddington, which stops off in Oxford, so it is possible to either drive or take the train for a day trip in Oxford.
Read our guide to Moreton in Marsh here.
Other place of interest include Daylesford, with its organic shop, restaurant and spa which is about 15 mins drive away, alternatively Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water, both very attractive and popular are about 10 and 15 mins drive away and definitely worth a visit. If you head norths Shakespeare's Stratford Upon Avon is about 25 mins drive. Additionally there are many National Trust houses and gardens to visit. For example Chastleton House is a few minutes drive away.
There a large number of pubs to coose from too!! In the nearby village of Little Compton there is the traditional pub called the Red Lion which sells good food and is well recommended.
"Lovely, peaceful location and well-equipped cottage"Mrs Moates 2017-11-03
"The property was ideal in terms of accessibility for my disabled wife but was, we felt, a little sterile. We completely disagree with the comment of one visitor that it was homely. We felt it was exactly the opposite. Functional, well-equipped and warm yes, homely no. That said I suppose people’s perception of homeliness does vary according to their own personal taste."yates 2017-09-12
