Leafield, Burford & surrounding area
Set within rolling, open Cotswolds' countryside King John's Barn, is a large converted barn enjoying great privacy and peace, a unique offering for groups or two families. There are two elements to this spacious treat making it perfect for those groups who want to spread out, sometimes hide a little when you want peace or get together at meal time to enjoy some important 'family time'! Add to this the four bedrooms and four bathrooms and you have a perfect choice for families or groups. Situated on the edge of a small village with local pub you can build a thirst for a local ale. The barn itself takes its name from the 'King John's Oak' which was said to be a rallying point for huntsmen in the Wychwood Forest. We really like the vaulted living space with glorious views across open fields. Vicky the owner is sure to be able to give you some great local tips too. Oh what superb views!

Leafield is one of the highest villages in the Cotswolds, which is why the church spire of St. Michael's can be seen for miles. Leafield was once the royal hunting forest, part of which still survives as a National Nature Reserve it was also once a centre for pottery production, a legacy celebrated in the Potters of Port Street guide.
In the village are the Village Stores, a local community shop selling groceries, newspapers, and freshly baked bread and pastries, as well as a range of local food and drink. There is a good traditional pub called The Fox. Leafield is well located for all of the Oxfrodshire Cotswolds locations and attractions, with Burford, Witney, Chipping Norton all very nearby.
The local villages (no more than 1.5 miles away) have a selection of good food pubs, including the Swan at Swinbrook and The Lamb (Shipton). The cottage has good access to local Cotswold locations including Burford, Bourton on the Water, Bibury and Chipping Norton. As well as many excellent local walks, there are many attractions such as Cotswold Wildlife Park and Blenheim Palace at Woodstock within a short dive. Oxford is approximately 20 miles away.
