Bourton on the Water, Bourton on the Water & surrounding area
Japonica Cottage is one of a row of five delightful Cotswold cottages set in the heart of the very famous and very attractive village of Bourton on the Water. Internally the cottage is presented in cosy and charming style, with the rooms and their furnishings typifying the Cotswolds, including some original doors dating back hundreds of years. In our opinion this is ideal for a couple or a small family wanting to tour the local area. The heated conservatory which is attached to the cottage is a very pleasant place to enjoy a quiet moment! .

Bourton on the Water is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds with small bridges crossing the River Windrush, making it a superb spot to sit, feed ducks and enjoy pub food or local cafes. Walking in the area is superb with many footpaths passing through attractive villages and along the rivers and streams; quarry lakes with lots of wildlife.
The village boasts the well known Motor Museum (home of Brum), the Model Village, Birdland and Model Railway Exhibition. A superb location in all respects.
There are local buses running to Cheltenham, Stow on the Wold and Cirencester (just 200 yards for the cottage). Needless to say many pretty villages such as Bibury, Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaughter, Blockley are all nearby. Oxford, Stratford upon Avon and Cheltenham are all nearby.

"Its in the heart of bourton but you can easily get away from the hustle and bustle if you want. Its a cosy, clean cottage and feels like home - mind you we have been there 3 times in 3 years. Mr Kitchen, April 2017."Kitchen 2017-04-25
