Cold Aston is a small rural village located between Cheltenham and the quaint Bourton-on-the-Water - and one which has kept its rural appeal and charm with the majority of the buildings and houses retaining the typical Cotswold period look. The village and surrounding area is steeped in Iron Age and Roman history including the Fosse Way.
The village has a great 'Cotswolds' feel' with countless traditional buildings, surrounded by open fields and countryside surrounding. The village also has an excellent local pub, one of the best in the area (The Plough) and this is just 150 yards from your front door. Cold Aston has been awarded the Bledisloe Cup for the 'Best Kept Small Village in the Cotswolds' and oozes history!
Nearby is the beautiful village of Bourton on the Water a real gem, and known as the "Venice of the Cotswolds" and very popular with young and old. Cotswold Motoring Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens, the model village some of the many attractions. There are also a wide range of tearooms and restaurants offering the essential 'afternoon tea'.
Stow on the Wold is approx 8 mins drive away, with its wide selection of shops and places of interest. Cheltenham is similarly a short drive away and well worth a visit - especially the Montpellier area.
"It was very cute and the location is nice and quiet. "Ms Goodwin 2016-07-09
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hayloft! Its proximity to The Plough Inn was fantastic. Cold Aston is as Cotswolds as it gets. And you are only 5 or 10 minutes drive from Bourton on the Water. Fantastic spot for a quiet weekend exploring the English countryside. Mrs Reid, June 2016"Reid 2016-06-20
"The Hayloft is beautiful, roomy, comfortable and cosy with lovely modern touches throughout. Cold Aston is a great quiet village to stay in, The Plough serves delicious food and the service was exceptional. All communication with Chris and the team was easy and simple. We were left to ourselves to enjoy a great weekend stay. The towns surrounding Cold Aston are all beautiful and welcoming. There is plenty to do and see, lots of places to stop off for eating and drinking, and some beautiful walks. Most definitely recommended."Ms Wheeler 2015-05-01
