Bibury, Cirencester & surrounding area
Set on the edge of Bibury, one of the Cotswolds' prettiest villages, Courtyard Cottage, is the opportunity to enjoy a superb village for a very reasonable price. Tucked off the main 'high street' that passes through Bibury, the cottage offers very good accommodation that is absolutely spotlessly clean and fresh. No wonder we have guests who return to this cottage (and also the one next door Gables Cottage) they love it because not only of its location, but because it is exceptionally good value for money. Inside the cottage offers spacious self catering accommodation for four people within a quiet location. The heart of the village is no more than 5 mins walk away and with it a few pubs and hotels. The cottage is very well equipped and a very good choice if your either looking to settle in for a break or if you intend to get out and use it as a base, Cotswold countryside is very much on your doorstep!
Also, if you are planning to come to a wedding at Cripps Barn, this cottage is perfect, it's just 2 miles away,

Bibury is a about as classic and attractive Cotswold village that you could wish for. Historicvally significant thanks mainly due to its position on the river that weaves through the village, it has mentions in the Doomsday Book with specifically Arlington Row one of the most renowned locations in the Cotswolds. These ancient cottages (still lived in today and owned by the National Trust) were once inhabited by workers from Arlington Mill. History surrounds you and so too do a selection of stunning walks.
There is a Trout farm in the village which is a popular day trip and particularly appealing for children who can fish and usually catch easily a trout (which you can buy for a meal!) plus a country museum in the old Arlington Mill. There are two good pubs in Bibury the welcoming local pub called The Catherine Wheel and The Swan which is on the river. If you in the village on Boxing Day they have their legendary Duck Races!
Cirencester is about 12 mins drive away where there are plenty of shops, cafes and things to do. Burford is similarly nearby, while other places of note include Lechlade is a short drive away, with its boating on the River Thames. There is a water sports park at South Cerney and golf, riding and tennis are all available close by.
Picturesque villages abound with many 'Olde Worlde' pubs and restaurants nestling in valleys.
This is the kind of location you remember as a child simply because so little has changed and because much of the charm remains. Beautiful!
