Uley, Tetbury & surrounding area
Brook Cottage is a cute bolt hole situated deep in the countryside of the southern Cotswolds, approx 6 miles from Tetbury and 2 miles from Stroud. Brook is such a sweet home, very much the pride and joy of the owner who loves to make guests feel welcome and at home. The cottage has everything you need, neat and tidy - spick and span! The comfortable, open plan space downstairs looks towards the garden (enclosed) from your armchair, it really is very welcoming. Upstairs is a goood sized bedroom that looks towards the road into the village and countryside beyond. Outside there is a garden area to the rear. The property, which is attached to the owner's home and located on the edge of the village, is an ideal base for touring the area with superb access to locations such as Westonbirt Arboretum and Cheltenham and Badminton for the races. It is also very convenient for Bath. The property is superb value for money, which we heartily recommend, and with proximity to the lovely village of Uley, it is one to consider if touring the region.

The village of Uley is situated is truly 'classic' part of the Cotswolds. Located towards the southern side of the Cotswold Hills, it is surrounded by delightful rolling countryside and offers some superb walks in every direction and when you reach the top of the various hills there are some stunning views. The Cotswold Way runs very near to the village.
The village itself is approx 5 miles north west of Tetbury and roughly three miles to the south of Stroud. Car journeys to either of these little market towns are short but through lovely lanes! Within Uley, there is a beautiful church, shop selling essentials, a post office and an excellent local pub called The Old Crown - a 17th Century coaching inn with bags of character serving good food. Also of note in Uley is the Prema Arts Centre which is an excellent, revered (and very friendly) arts centre. You can enrol for a workshop and offer some great experiences for children and adults alike!
In terms of 'things to do' nearby, there are some excellent antique shops in Tetbury, a superb and locally renowned Farmer's Market in Stroud. Westonbirt Arboretum is great day out in beautiful grounds. If you are looking for a shopping excursion, then a trip to Gloucester Docks, Bath, Bristol or Cirencester (a personal favourite!) are good options and are all within 45 mins drive.
This is a great location offering a super mix of countryside life and/or town based options, in one of the most idyllic areas of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds.
