Blockley is (righfully) considered the quintessential Cotswolds' village, with beautiful cottages and buildings all surrounded by classic rolling countryside. A village set in the Cotswolds district of Gloucestershire and having been called one of the Cotswolds best kept secrets, Blockley will amaze you with it's golden charm and encompassing greenery. Blockley is a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for walks, picnics and has much to offer holidaymakers. An idyllic spot for certain. Add to this a few good places to have a drink plus one of the best 'Village Shops' there is and you begin to see why so many people choose not only to live here, but come and stay here.
Located in the middle of Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh you really do have everything nearby. In each of these places you will find places to eat, good bars and pubs plus a wide range of shops. Not far away is Daylesford (about 6 miles), well known for its shopping and restuarant as well as the spa too. For families we definitely recommend the Cotswolds Farm Park, a few miles away or the Cotswolds Wildlife Park which is about 25 mins drive away (when you book with us you'll get an app with loads of ideas on what to do and discounts to plenty of places, incl the Wildlife Park!).
You are spoilt for choice with walks from your front door and with some good hills to climb you are going to get some, quite literally, breathtaking views. All of which will give you a healthy appetite!
Beyond Blockley are a host of stunning villages with their pubs, which are all well worth taking in and viewing. There are few better places to be than this area if you want to see 'classic Cotswolds'. We'd personally recommend Lower and Upper Swell, Lower and Upper Slaughter for a start, we could go on...!
Finally but not least, you really must try some of the local National Trusts Gardens, incl Kiftsgate and especially Hidcote Manor Gardens, one of the best in the country. We think you've got plenty to do.....!!!
