Hurst Green

2nd visit and property was great as before.

Just a couple of minor things that we did comment on last year but haven’t been addressed. Firstly a mirror of some sort in the second bedroom upstairs is really needed and a dressing table/ chest of drawers in downstairs bedroom would be very useful. Apart from that a very comfortable stay again, very friendly area. Would recommend the carpenters arms for a lovely Sunday lunch.

Large comfortable house very clean with everything you would need for an enjoyable stay, the village is lovely with 2 pubs fish n chip shop, post office with shop and a butchers the locals are very friendly and helpful this is our 4th stay and we will be back next year

Hurst Green is a comfortable place to stay.

The rooms are spacious. The kitchen is well equipped with room for your food etc. The lounge is comfortable apart from the sofas both of which could do with support. The downstairs twin room with the shower cubicle became our dressing room while we slept upstairs in the lovely bedroom with good quality bedding. I did find many used disposable cloths in the bathroom and kitchen cupboards but there was plenty of cleaning products provided. The biggest grip however was the EV charger. We had rung Mrs Rees well beforehand asking about using it and were told to contact the manufacturer. The local charger was out of action and we spent a lot of time trying to find one in Abergavenny (a lot not working there. ) Later in the week we came across the instructions on the utility room wall (nothing in the information folder) I hope you don't mind I deadheadeed the roses and waterd the plants.

A lovely appointed property in a quiet idyllic country setting.

The local people we met around the village where all very friendly and accommodating.

The property Hurst Green was excellent.

Very comfortable with everything we needed for our weeks holiday. The garden furniture good and the garden very pleasant for sitting outside. It was a very very short walk to the village centre where there was a butcher, a general store, a fish and chip shop and 2 pubs. The Temple bar inn was good for bar meals. The local library in the cul de sac next door to us had a sale of books on a Thursday morning. All the locals were very friendly. Location was great for travelling to Hereford, Hay on Wye and Abergavenny. Goodrich castle was nice to visit too. We really enjoyed our weeks holiday in Eywas Harold.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful, spacious house.

Unfortunately, the sofas were not comfortable for us to sit on. We are both in our 70s, but for my 46-year-old nephew, it was no problem.

Lovely bright spacious and well equipped property located in a quiet village.

Ewyas Harold has 2 pubs, a chippy, village shop and PO. Great food at Temple Bar Inn. Super walks over the common and surrounding woods.

House is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped (and very peaceful), and the village is lovely and a great base.

Excellent accommodation!

Very comfortable, well-maintained, warm, spacious house with great facilities - well equipped kitchen, living room, with games and jigsaws, good bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms. Lovely, quiet village with useful, friendly shop, and good value pub for Butty Bach ale (Temple Inn). We enjoyed the clear paths to walk from the house up to the Ewyas Harold Common for beautiful views. Easy to access local area by car for visits - we walked up Pen-y-Fan, visited Hay-on-Wye and Llangorse Lake. We would love to return!

If you want a place that is clean and tidy and very peaceful then this is the place for you.

No dogs barking or sirens sounding just peace and tranquillity and the sounds of birds. Even had the privilege of watching a Mrs Blackbird raising chicks and visits from Hedgehogs and a mouse - after dark with a Trail Camera. Wonderful place really enjoyed our stay. Cleanliness could not have been better.

A very clean and well presented holiday let.

It was warm and welcoming on arrival and we found it easy to set the temperature to our liking. The beds were comfy, towels super fluffy and the kitchen had all we needed to self cater for the week. Nice, quiet village location with good local shops. Our only suggestion for improvement would be the sofas in the lounge, they look fine but start to feel a bit saggy when you sit in them for any length of time.

Our 2nd visit and we will definitely return.

Very clean, well presented and comfortable accommodation in a really friendly village. Plenty of space for 6 people and a dog. Great chip shop, well stocked shop, butchers and 2 pubs. Plenty of lovely days out within easy reach.

An immaculate, detached house in a quiet area of the village but within easy walking distance of facilities.

All 3 off us loved the property and so did my Jack Russell.

The kitchen is large with all the utensils needed and the lounge has 2 very comfortable settees. The village is great, very freindly people, The Dog, pub, does not serve food in the evening, but opposite is a wonderful fish & Chip shop and you can take them back to the pub to eat, they will even lend you knives and forks.

The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable. The setting is gorgeous, surrounded by beautiful trees, although the garden needed someTLC. Ewyas Harold is a delightful village.

Very comfortable stay.

Property was exceptionally clean. Surprised by the size of rooms etc. plenty of space for 6 adults and a dog. Very generous with cleaning products, dishwasher tablets, soap powder etc. Just a couple of things we felt could have enhanced our stay even more, firstly a mirror in the second bedroom would have been welcome and a dressing table or chest of drawers in the downstairs bedroom. Secondly, as a family of tea drinkers and lovers of a tea pot! A larger tea pot would have been nice, however even with these small suggestions we wouldn’t hesitate to book again for next year. We would also like to mention the Dog Inn village pub. Couldn’t have been friendlier and made very welcome despite us not being regulars.

What a fantastic property, it is like the "tardis" once you step inside the place seems to expand to give you upstairs 2 large doubles one of which is en suite plus a bathroom downstairs large kitchen fully furnished, large living room leading onto garden, toilet, garage/gamesroom.

This our 3rd stay at Hurst Green we love staying here the house has good size rooms with a downstairs bedroom and shower room it’s in a lovely village with 2 pubs a chippy and post office with shop The back garden is small but big enough for our little dog to explore We have already booked for next year

We had fantastic fish and chips from the chippy a stones-throw away and drinks at the wonderful Dog Inn pub. The property was perfect for a group of us attending a wedding at the local Haybarn venue, just an easy 20 minute walk away. Everything we needed was supplied. Would reccomend.

A lovely cottage.

The village is also lovely. We enjoyed our stay. There were a couple of minor issues, which were noted in the visitor book. The garden, we feel, could use a little attention. Although the grass had been cut the plants and shrubs were growing beyond a tidy level. Having said that, it is probably difficult to devote time to it during the peak season.

The lovely house is quiet, clean and well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Luxury-hotel quality towels were an unexpected bonus and added to the delicious feel of pampering even while self-catering. The house feels miles from anywhere, secluded and private but a short step takes you to the centre of Ewyas Harold. The village shop seems to supply most things but it was great to find a very good butchers, excellent fish and chip shop and two pubs. The Dog Inn does a delicious Sunday roast - incredible vegetables - and the Temple Bar offers great evening meals. An absolute must is the ice cream farm at Rowlestone - probably the best ice cream ever! Luckily the butchers stocks tubs so cravings can be satisfied after a visit. The house is central for exploring the area. We enjoyed great walks around the area including the one up over the common to Abbey Dore. Both Hereford and Abergavenny are surprisingly close by although Hereford lacked a great selection of shops. Hay on Wye makes up for that and has an excellent market on Thursdays. Really can't wait for another stay to relax and discover more in this area. Thank you again for a lovely holiday.

An excellent cottage providing a home from home feel.

In house facilities are first class with all individual need catered for. The location, while being quiet and peaceful, is ideal for exploring the Herefordshire countryside and many historic and cultural sites. The village of Ewyas Harold is charming with 2 thriving pubs, an excellent Fish and Chip Shop, a well stocked village shop and Post Office and a good Butcher's shop.

This is one of the best holiday homes we've stayed in.

Property owners seem to be cutting back on what they deem essential to provide for people these days and over the last few years don't leave what I think should be provided especially for the higher costs of holiday homes. Not at Hurst Green .....every comfort was provided for. Luxury towels, enough toilet paper,(often a bug bear) washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets, good chopping boards and sharp knives....the list goes on. Thank you Mrs Rees, your attention to detail was very much appreciated. Ewyas Harold is a lovely village and all the local businesses are very welcoming. This was our second stay here and as good as the first.

This property is very good in all respects.

Very clean and comfortable the beds are lovely and my wife and I slept really well. The kitchen has everything you needed we will be coming back again soon.

This was my third visit to Hurst Green.

As before, it was clean, warm, comfortable & welcoming. The kitchen is very well equipped. The host is friendly, helpful & available if needed. The village has a well stocked shop, a church, fish & chip shop, 2 pubs & a recreation ground. Hen & duck eggs are sold along the roadside with honesty boxes. I readily recommend this cottage.

We loved our short stay at Hurst Green.

We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. It is so well laid out with large rooms all over. A lovely kitchen and utility room complemented the large living room. Hurst Green was without doubt one of the nicest places we've stayed and at sucha reasonable price. It was beautifully clean and well kept.

We thought this property was almost perfect.

The traditional decor was very much to our taste, it was clean and warm. The location in a cul de sac close to the village centre was perfect. Sooo quiet! The kitchen was excellent. The one small problem we had with a light switch was sorted out really quickly by Mrs Rees. We enjoyed the recreation ground and it was a pleasure to walk round the village. We didn't try either of the 2 local pubs as one didn't do evening meals and other seemed a bit pricey. The only quibbles would be the sofas being too squidgy and the bath was an awkward shape. We have stayed in 40 holiday lets in the last 13 years and this rates very highly indeed.

Hurst Green is a five-star property, extremely clean and well-equipped, on a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of Ewyas Harold village.

The furnishings are all very comfortable and up to date, easily accommodating six people, beds with crisp duvets and multiple pillows, and modern bathrooms with loads of fluffy towels. The kitchen has all the equipment you need if you want to cook family meals, or the two pubs and fish n chip shop are just a few steps away in the village. Nice to have a washer-dryer in the house if needed. Our host was very accommodating and available as needed, but all was so well organised that we didn’t need much! We shall always look to see if this gem is available when we travel this way again!

Second time here.

Beautiful cottage, spacious and comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and well equipped. The village is very pretty with great shops, local pubs and a great fish and chip shop.

Area quiet and village friendly. The only problem was with the downstairs en suite. Unpleasant smell, had been noted by previous guests. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hurst Green highly.

This was my 2nd stay at Hurst Green & it was just as good as the 1st.

Very well presented & equipped with a safe, secure garden. I had already booked again for next March. However, this time, I became aware of a nearby Army Training Area. Unfortunately, my dog is frightened of fireworks so was quite unsettled by the unexpected noises coming from the training area.

What a lovely property.

From entering it felt just like home. We were holidaying with friends from Germany who both said what a wonderful place it was. On arrival there was a “welcome pack” of tea and biscuits, which after quite a long drive was very much appreciated. We all agreed that the beds were very comfortable and the other amenities were first class. A nice little bonus was the table tennis in the garage, which we made use of, and we were even able to sit outside and enjoy some sunshine The house itself was very well situated and the village amenities were only 5 minutes walk away, we can recommend the fish and chips and the pub restaurant. Ewyas Harold is an ideal base for exploring the area, Hereford is only half an hour’s drive away as are trips into Wales. To conclude, from booking the holiday until leaving to come home everything went smoothly, unfortunately we could only stay for six days as it was such a lovely spot, would certainly recommend.

Great quiet place to stay.

2 pubs and chip shop within easy walking distance. Lots of walks from the property especially on the common land. Lovely time had by myself and family.

We had a lovely stay the house is very spacious and comfortable with everything you would need, The area is very quiet 4 minutes walk to the 2 pubs chippy,butchers and post office with large shop.

The only thing that let it down was the garden it needed everything cut back and tidying but having said that we have already booked for next year. We have an electric car there is a charge point at the house but we preferred to you a pod point charger on The Temple Bar Inn car park.

Lovely property in a nice village.

There were a good range of pans & utensils in the kitchen and the beds were comfy. Walks from the door or a great place as a base for The Wye Valley/Welsh Border. If I’m visiting that area again I would rebook. In the small village there are 2 pubs, a chippy, a general store/post office and a butchers.

Hurst Green is a wonderful cottage, in a quiet village with 2 pubs, a shop/post office, fish & chip shop, church & recreation ground all within a few minutes walk.

It is clean, warm & comfortable. Spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen & thick soft towels. The garden is secure for dogs (check the side gate is closed). There is a utility room which is also handy for washing wet, dirty paws on the way in. The host is friendly & helpful, provides tea, coffee, sugar, milk & biscuits for arrival plus a dog towel & bowls. I have already booked again.

Garden would be lovely to sit in on a summer evening. Great friendly village with pubs, well stocked shop and excellent fish and chips. Plenty of great scenery and places to visit. Would love to return again.

3rd Visit everything you require is to hand , we had a great holiday

Large light rooms, central heating, soft beds and 3 loos made for a comfortable stay for a family group.

It was lovely having a decorated xmas tree and mince pies waiting for us. An excellent location for exploring the English/Welsh border, we would have walked more if not for the weather.

Bungalow was extremely comfortable.

It had everything we needed and felt really cozy. Would recomend Village pubs and chip shop. If you are venturing out in the evening take a torch as lane is very dark.

Spotlessly clean, well equipped spacious cottage in a beautiful village.

We are a family party of five adults and we found Hurst Green very comfortable with everything you could want for an enjoyable stay in the delightful village of Ewyas Harold. The beauty of the Golden Valley is stunning but without the crowds of many holiday UK destinations, a hidden gem. We were visiting family who live nearby and although it was November we were lucky with the weather and were treated to a backdrop of dazzling autumn scenery from the surrounding countryside as we walked on the common and drove to nearby towns. The village itself has two friendly and welcoming pubs serving food and local ales, a great chip shop, village store and post office, as well as two renowned award winning butchers selling quality local produce. We recommend Hurst Green and look forward to returning.

Lovely, comfortable, a real ‘home from home’ experience.

Well placed in the village with a small shop (which stocks a good variety of fresh, tinned and frozen goods), a fish and chip shop and 2 pubs, which both serve food. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Hurst Green.

It was perfect home-from-home along with friendly neighbours! I was able to recharge my car overnight at the house and this means that days out were worry-free about where I would be able to recharge. Excellent shops in the village for groceries and places to eat including the local fish and chips!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hurst Green and we will be making a third visit in the future.

So thank you Mrs Rees. Mark and Elaine very new licenses of the The Dog pub which is only a short walk away from the bungalow made us very welcome and and getting to know the locals was great. And the fish and chips were fantastic also.

Hurst Green was well equipped, comfortable and ideally situated in the village. Ewyas Harold was an excellent base for touring the area and the pub, shop, chippy, butchers and recreation field made it perfect,

It was home from home. We spent a lot of time at the bungalow as the weather was really stifling for walking around. The garden was enclosed and private, so we could leave the doors and windows open. The neighbours very pleasant, and a five minute walk to two pubs across from each other, a post office/store and a fish and chip shop that sold ice cream - what more could you want?

This property was almost perfect for us - a family of 6 adults attending a wedding locally.

Bedrooms and the living room were very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped and the table was a decent size for the 6 of us to eat at. We were lucky to have fantastic weather and were able to enjoy meals and relaxation in the pretty garden. The one thing which would make the property absolutely perfect would be to improve the linings on the curtains to provide some degree of blackout. Due to the fantastic weather we were woken early by sun streaming through the curtains, which are very lightly lined. We would definitely recommend this property, especially if the curtain linings could be improved.

There used to be a key to lock the door between the house and the garage.

Without it there is only the garage outer door to secure the house.

We cannot fault the accommodation.

It was spacious, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and very comfortable. The village was quiet and the local residents so friendly and helpful. My daughter hopes to go later this year on my recommendation.

Really clean, comfy beds, and quiet. The Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon functionality was appreciated and Wifi was super fast for the whole family. The whole place felt roomy and the layout just worked. The village itself was pretty and perfect for us with a dog with lots of places to explore. We ventured up to the common and enjoyed the views. Hay on Wye was really picturesque and well worth a visit. Had a lovely meal at No.3 Restaurant in Ross on Wye and a great value, good quality carvery at the Fishermans Arms in Docklow too on the way down. We didn't eat locally as only there a short stay but will definitely try next time

Very large property in a great village.

Us older folks stayed downstairs and the younger family members had the upstairs bedroom and bath to themselves. Nice kitchen with the large table to sit around and talk about the day's travels. Wi-Fi worked fine and we had everything we needed for our week's stay. As everyone has said the fish and chips shop is fantastic. The village shop was surprisingly large and has pretty much everything you might need at very reasonable prices. Everyone we met was very friendly.

The property needs a little extra TLC to achieve a higher rating

A wonderful stay in Hurst Green this week.

We were a group that ranged from 79 years to 4 years of age and we couldn't have been more comfortable! House was very clean and comfortable and had everything you could need for a comfortable and easy stay. So many little extras that you don't get in many other properties! A perfect base to explore Hereford, Abergavenny and Hay On Wye - and those are just the three we managed to get to during our short stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lovely break. The table tennis was fun too!

We gave just returned from a great week away at Hurst Green.

The cottage was excellent in all ways, very warm, clean, comfortable beds. Even a good supply of dishwasher tablets, clothes washing liquid (we did replace the batteries in the living room fire control so that's working again, although we didn't need to use it!) We would certainly recommend this cottage as a lovely place to stay & would certainly use it again if we were returning to the area. Thank you to the owners for creating a great place to stay.

Great dog friendly pub, shop and butchers in walking distance. Excellent base for exploring market towns like Abergavenny, interesting historic sites such as Raglan Castle and the cathedral city of Hereford. Would recommend.

Lovely quiet property right in the centre of the towns we wanted to visit.

Village shops and pub were all good. Would definitely visit again.

Beds very uncomfortable and lounge furniture looks and feels very tired.

The cottage was spotless on arrival.

Great dog safe enclosed garden. Kitchen great size and well equipped. Good bathroom and ensuite. The village is lovely with a few basic facilities including a nice pub,butchers, general store and great fish and chip shop. However we had a few issues with the beds. The king size upstairs was fine. Unfortunately the upstairs double was very uncomfortable and gave a guest severe back ache. On inspection the mattress was very worn with a collapsed section. The downstairs twin beds were quite low and gave little support. We actually left a day early as we couldn't face another sleepless night. Another issue was the lounge seating. With 6 guests there simply wasn't enough room. There was only a 2 seater settee plus a mismatched set of uncomfortable chairs. If these issues could be addressed we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Very clean and everything in place to make the holiday enjoyable. The cottage is very conveniently placed in the village and convenient to the shop and the pub which served great meals.

Good to have more than the statutory six of crockery and not have to keep washing up or setting the dishwasher off.

The house was terrifically well equipped, even down to laundry supplies.

We had a great holiday. My friends shared the twin room but sadly they both said they didn't sleep well as both beds were uncomfortable. I only mention this as I feel sure you would want to know. The garden was wonderful, well kept with great garden furniture. Even the wooden pulley in the utility room was used too when we did a little laundry, and that turned out to be a great clothes airer. I would highly recommend this property.

This is a lovely property in a quiet location.

Just what we wanted for a relaxing week. Garden was safe for dog and there were plenty of walks close by. Village small but everyone we met was so friendly. Good food and beer served at the local pub. Would suggest (not a complaint) that a gate be fitted at the bottom of the stairs to prevent dog going up.

Hurst Green is a very well equipped and comfortable property in a good location.

The Temple Bar pub and fish and chip shop are both good and there are walks from the door. We enjoyed both Herefordshire and Wales for walking and exploring during our stay which are both within easy reach. We would like it if two dogs were allowed as that would mean we could take family with us who also have a dog. It is very likely that we will visit again as we found it so relaxing.

Very well equipped for holiday use and we enjoyed the dvds, books etc.

, we had a bash around with the table tennis once too! So local to all amenities, which was very handy and the Dog Inn did us a lovely meal on my birthday during our stay and local walks were welcome ( between the stormy weather) and we would definitely choose again, thank you!

This was our first visit to Herefordshire but I'm sure it will not be the last .

For us Hurst Green was the ideal base for exploring the area such as Abergavenny, Monmouth, Hereford.to mention just a few. Hurst Green its self has everything you could need for a home away from home with all mod cons supplied. We especially liked Netflix on the Smart TV

This was our fourth stay at Hurst Green.

Ewyas Harold is a community with character, both warm and friendly. It is an excellent base for exploring with a number of historic towns within easy reach - Hereford, Abergavenny, Monmouth, Usk etc. There are some really good visitor attractions nearby, as exemplified by Big Pit and Blaenavon, we would also recommend the Rural Life Museum at Usk. More locally, the walk across the Ewyas Harold common to Dore Abbey offers views and wildlife. We spent a day exploring Llanthony Priory and the walks local to there. The house itself, Hurst Green, is amongst the cleanest, best equipped and simply nicest amongst our stays, we have not chosen to stay anywhere else four times.

My review will be short and sweet as Sykes removed most of my last one.

Don’t ask for reviews then select which bits to keep and which bits to reject in case it reflects badly on Sykes. We average 6 Sykes holidays per year (that’s a lot!!). I have never left a negative review. I have left honest reviews and pointed out areas of concern. If I’ve been disappointed I’ve said so. These reviews are to ensure other customers select the right holiday for them and their pets. On the whole our Sykes holidays have been excellent. Would I book this accommodation again? YES. That says it all.

Very clean spacious cottage with everything you need in the cottage.

Ping pong table in garage was excellent extra. A lot of fun in the evenings. Located in a great village with super amenities. Excellent food in village pub. Lovely chippy . Village shop had good stock of items. Great location to explore the area. So many great castles, abbey, churches, villages and towns to visit. Had a fab week

Cottage was very comfortable and better equipped than most others we have used.

Ewyas Harold is a great village, in a great location. Good village shops and fish and chips, well situated for Hereford, Abergavenny, the wye valley and Brecon Beacons. We loved the beautiful surrounding countryside, with good walking and the sheep in the field across the road!

Well situated for exploring both Herefordshire and South Wales. Local village pub served great food as did the fish and chip shop. Local shop also well stocked for groceries, newspapers etc. Would definitely stay again.

Outstanding Fabulous place to stay, village location, pubs, walks, fabulous fish and chip shop.

Too quality bedding and towels. Netflix etc WiFi provided. Very comfortable spacious home. Would definitely recommend and will return. Very good value for money.

Really lovely week at Hurst green, everything was perfect , great location, lots of room, lucky with the weather, and nice and peaceful.

Thanks to Mrs Rees for preparing welcoming pack for us on our arrival. So close to some great towns and villages. Will defiantly visit again.

A lovely comfortable house, very clean and well kept.

With very comfy beds, three toilets, and two bathrooms also extremely convenient. The table tennis table in the garage was the source of much hilarity amongst four senior citizens, I imagine great fun for younger guests with more energy. All round an excellent cottage for a comfortable holiday , especially when it rains for extended periods nearly every day. The roads around Ewyas Harold are very narrow so nervous drivers might be put off travelling to the small villages nearby, but we had no problem being used to using passing places in Cornwall and Yorkshire, just watch out for 'fords' , if it does rain heavily, many turn into small lakes! Just a tip, do your research before you go, as there are many interesting places to see and visit, especially the Forest Of Dean, however, cross the Wye at Goodrich and not Monmouth as English signage is easier to read at speed than Welsh! We would recommend Hurst Green happily to anyone who wishes a home from home.

It was a lovely beautiful clean and well dress home and had everything you need to spend a weeks peaceful break in ,the village is fab with great little shops and lots of lovely walks for us and the dog .

A very nice cottage, although it's more of a house to be honest.

The village was very friendly and chip shop excellent. Kitchen had all you needed. Plenty to do in area, although Hereford was disappointing, Abergavenney far better for shops and markets.

The cottage exceeded expectations.

It was lovely and clean and well laid out with everything needed for a home from home. The garden was enclosed so great for the dog to roam without worrying he was escaping. It was really close to the chip Shop, 2 pubs, a shop, a butchers etc. It is the best cottage we have stayed in so far for facilities and the girls especially loved the table tennis in the garage.

Cottage was larger than expected (size of rooms)

My Mum really wanted to see Bristol but we ended up staying in Ewyas Harold as this bungalow offered the accommodation we required for ourselves and a dog.

The downstairs bedroom with ensuite shower was self contained and suited my Mum and the 2 upstairs doubles for myself, my husband, my brother and his girlfriend were lovely. The property is beautifully appointed, in a very friendly village with a very good fish and chip shop, butchers, village shop and dog friendly pub close by. Our time together passed all too quickly with none of us wanting to leave at the end of the week and all of us wishing we could live there!!

Good walks straight out of the village over a variety of terrain House was well presented and had everything you could want or need. Another great holiday.

This property ideally placed to explore the Golden Valley and it’s wonderful historical churches.

Ewyas Harold very peaceful excellent walks from property, the local common not to be missed. The village has good amenities and a well stocked shop.

Hurst Green is a lovely house, in a very quiet area of a lovely village.

The house itself needs a little updating, but it was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Black out curtains or blinds in the bedrooms would have made our stay perfect.

Hurst Green is an immaculate spacious home.

It is situated in an excellent position for the P.O./shop, 2 pubs and a great chippy. Lovely walks in the vicinity and it is in a good central location to visit this beautiful area.

The cottage was very well equipped.

Everything you would have wanted had been thought of, especially in the kitchen. Soft furnishings and linens were all of the first quality. We were very comfortable and warm, particularly given the winter cold we experienced. Being so close to the village was a bonus. Although we did our shopping at the large superstore, the village shop was well stocked if you just wanted to replace a few things, and the local family butcher was excellent. Everyone in the village was very friendly and made you feel welcome.

A most relaxing and comfortable property, hope no one books it when we want it next year.

The local facilities Pubs Shops Church were perfect. You could travel further afield to Pubs within 5 miles with everything you could want on the menu.

Great bungalow in a fantastic village made for a brilliant and relaxing holiday

I have stayed in this accommodation on a previous visit and have both been delighted and well pleased with the house.

It is extremely clean, has everything and warm. The village has plenty to see and is close enough to Hereford and Abergavenny. As I am originally from the area it was a great base for me, and a delight for my daughters who have never been before. Thank you once again for the warmth and welcome Ms Sheena Furlong

So comfortable that we were happy to relax in the house and garden.

The people in the village were very friendly and kind. There is a community bus which you can catch to get to Hereford which I preferred as Hereford traffic is awful. Abergavenny was a place I fell in love with.The shops were individual along narrow streets and the Castle was free with a museum. The views were amazing. I would warn people that many roads are narrow,hilly and windy. A 'B' road means what it says. A nervous driver needs to be more than cautious.

A wonderful cottage, beautifully appointed and comfortable.

Garden a treat! Limited cellphone coverage (possibly a plus)! Wonderfully relaxing, yet close enough to Hereford for shopping and to many great castles, gardens, hikes as well as canoeing.

It was a lovely holiday in a very comfy holiday cottage.

We especially appreciated the shady and enclosed garden because it allowed our dog to run around freely in the garden which made his holiday too. The weather was wonderful. The scenery was beautiful and the village was friendly with good amenities - chip shop, local shop and pub with good meals all within an easy walk.

We made use of the spare rooms by having family stay with us, but there was still space to escape when needed. The Temple Inn just down the road does some of the best roast dinners my father in law has had for years so even he was happy!

Lovely house in a great location to explore the Black Mountains and the lovely Herefordshire countryside.

The house was immaculate and very comfortable. Owners left milk and biscuits etc which was very helpful. The beds are comfortable and the house has everything you need. It is 5 minute walk to the fish and chip shop, post office ( village shop) and the two pubs. Would certainly recommend.

The property was situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with ample parking. It was really nicely furnished. Home from home really and would definitely rebook .

We had a very enjoyable week in this cottage, it was warm, comfortable and very easy to live in.

The village is very attractive with good facilities, try the food at the welcoming Dog Inn.
