The property

Elmhurst Cottage is a very attractive holiday cottage situated in a picture postcard village in the northern Cotswolds.

The cottage is utterly charming and filled with lovely period features including original beams, an inglenook fireplace and flagstone floors - all hardly surprising given that it dates back to the 1600's!

It's idyllic location over looking the beautiful village church of St Swithin's along with glorious views to open countryside make it ideal for a rural holiday, yet given there is a pub in the village along with some basic shops you've actually got plenty on your doorstep too.

Its general location is perfect for visiting many local Cotswold villages plus of course Shakespeare Country at Stratford upon Avon.

The owner has carefully maintained the property over the years and still is one of our most popular cottages and in our opinion for good reason.

The cottage is ideal for groups and families alike with good size bedrooms, a study with Xbox for the children and a large garden to the rear.

We love it here!!

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.

About the location

CHIPPING CAMPDEN

Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 12 miles

This market town defines the saying "good things come in small packages" as it proves itself to be a wonderful place for tourists to stay. Chipping Campden sits in the northern part of the Cotswolds and boasts many historical buildings from St. James' church where the Chipping Camden Music Festival is held every year, to the early 17th century market hall upon which the town prides itself. Not only does the town have a rich history but much more, the high street is laced with charming Cotswold stone buildings with a range of shops and pubs. Nearby there are several beautiful, formal gardens for you to wander through. Chipping Campden has held its own 'Olimpick Games' since the early 1600s including peculiar sports such as 'shin-kicking', most certainly worth lining your holiday up with to experience something so unique. For a dose of famous history, head to the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon just 12 short miles away, it offers some charming little buildings, bookshops, theatres and museums.
