    “Booked 2 week break in apartment in the Cotswolds Golf & Spa hotel through Sykes Cottages website.”

    Booked Hazel 1 two bedroom apartment which was advertised as modern apartment with golf course view, paid nearly £1800 for the self catering apartment. When I arrived we were put in a different apartment, which had dirty floors which we had to clean and with a view of a building site not golf course.I complained to reception and was told that was all that was available and told that it states on Sykes website that the hotel can allocate a different comparable apartment to that advertised and ...

When I arrived we were put in a different apartment, which had dirty floors which we had to clean and with a view of a building site not golf course.I complained to reception and was told that was all that was available and told that it states on Sykes website that the hotel can allocate a different comparable apartment to that advertised and the one confirmed in the Sykes confirmation email. I pointed out that the email confirmation from Sykes states a Golf Course view from patio in the summary section and that is why I booked the accommodation. I called Sykes and was allocated a representative Alex, who was supposed to handle my complaint. To cut a long story short I was moved after a week to an apartment with a golf course view. The hotel offered a complimentary meal for my wife and I which we accepted and the value was £40.00. Alex called me and said what recompense do you want from Sykes and also told me that Sykes were meeting the hotel management the following week. I said it was up to Sykes to make an offer, did not hear anymore from Sykes, so contacted a week or so after my return from holiday and was told that the case is ongoing and that they were meeting hotel management in the next couple of weeks (same excuse as I had been told a few weeks earlier). Still not heard anything from them so have come to the conclusion that your company does not care about Customers or Customer Service. I will also be reviewing my experience on other sites as a warning to others to check that they get the accommodation they think they have booked.
