Superb holiday cottage in a lovely village and farmyard setting.

Welcomed by Nicola and Tom to this spacious accommodation in the Cotswolds. Quality fittings and furnishings, so well equipped with everything you could need. We had a great week of cycling and visiting NT properties and villages all over the area. Many thanks to our friendly hosts.

A gem of a cottage.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped and with wonderful welcoming owners who'll help if needed, but otherwise leave you to enjoy your break. Well positioned for nearby Burford, the Cotswolds, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and with a great pub 5 minutes walk away. Definitely 5 stars.

The Old Dairy is the perfect place to stay, and we really enjoyed our week in the Cotswolds.

The Old Dairy is an amazing cottage ,it was very clean and comfortable and we couldn’t have asked for anything more .

We had a wonderfull stay at The Old Dairy.

Great, centrally location in the Cotswolds, in the lovely village of Shilton. The cottage is really nice and comfortable with all facilities you need for a pleasant stay. Thanks to Tom and Nicola, specially for the great cookies she prepared!

If you want a central location to visit the Cotswolds, looking for a clean comfortable well appointed cottage, looking for the perfect hosts, looking for a sincere welcome and liberty around the property, this property is perfect, Tom and Nicola are perfect hosts and I am speaking from experience of renting cottages in the past, the goodies provided on arrival are all very welcome and appreciated, Nicola’s brownie’s are to die for.

A wonderful relaxing holiday in this beautiful part of the country.

The property had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Nicola, the property owner, made us very welcome and we really appreciated the additional touches - fresh flowers in every room, homemade chocolate brownies on arrival and apple and pear juice from fruit grown at Shilton House. We have visited The Cotswolds on numerous occasions but it was out first visit to Shilton - a real gem. We would not hesitate to stay at The Old Dairy again on future holidays in that area. The old dairy is a wonderful place , an ideal base to explore the gorgeous Cotswolds countryside and quaint villages, pretty towns! I can only recommend the old dairy, Shilton is a really pretty village with the ford and pond just as I remember it from when I paddled there as a child

Beutiful cottage in a lovely part of the world,Nice pub in walking distance.

the owners were lovely and allowed us to use there own garden as they themselves were away for a few days.Very central for a lot of attractions including Highgrove which we managed to visit.Also great for plane spotters as Brize Norton is just down the road.

A very comfortable stay and I would recommend this accommodation , especially as they do not allow pets; this sort of accommodation is getting more and more difficult to find.

(Not everyone likes, or can tolerate, dogs for various reasons.) The cottage was very clean with everything we could possibly need (including plasters in the first aid tin for the odd foot blisters etc, and new toothbrushes/toothpaste). Lots of thought had obviously gone into making visitors very comfortable. A very comfortable bed so slept well. There was ample car parking in a pretty courtyard. All in all we’re glad we discovered The Old Dairy and hopefully return.

Everything thing you could possibly need for a great stay. Nicola was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Had use of private garden which was really relaxing. Plenty of parking. Within easy reach to all the great cotswold locations. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back

The stay at the Old Dairy was fantastic!

It's a lovely, comfortable cottage with every facility needed to make your stay enjoyable. The kitchen is very well appointed as is the lovely shower room. It's well placed geographically near the A40 to easily get to many of the usual tourist attractions (many within 30 minutes), but situated in a lovely small and quiet village with a great pub a few minutes walk away. The owners are very accommodating and friendly and provide loads of local information on the area and OS maps marked up with loads of walks which we enjoyed doing!

The property is fitted out to a very high standard in all the rooms.

The decor was impressive with interesting pottery etc. Good to see a 42" modern TV with Netflix connection. The sofa was not the most comfortable?(OK TO MISS OUT IF YOU PUBLISH) Your house keeper was very friendly on the last morning Altogether, a property we would be happy to book again

Great location to explore the cotswold.

Beautiful house and gardens a real home from home. Very comfortable bed and everything you need in the kitchen. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and they took a genuine interest in making our holiday enjoyable. A lovely welcome, very personal touches - flowers cut from the garden, locally produced apple and pear drink and homemade brownies.

Nicola and Tom made us really welcome and the local walks that Tom had printed were priceless! Thank you to you both for making us so welcome. The mini blip with the Wi-Fi didn’t detract from our enjoyment and was being addressed as we left. I would return in an instant and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the property to anyone. The Old Dairy was a spacious, elegantly appointed and comfortable cottage for 2 with all the facilities needed for self catering.

As a bonus we also had access to the gardens of the owners' house which were large enough to afford us privacy and them too. The owners, Nicola and Tom were very welcoming and friendly. Parking was easy and bike storage was offered too. Thank you Nicola & Tom, we had a great week.

The Dairy is the perfect sized cottage for a couple to use as a base for visiting the beautiful Cotswolds!

It is well placed for getting to all of the well know tourist sites, and also the smaller, equally beautiful, villages. It is also fully equipped for your stay and both Tom and Nicola are very helpful and welcoming. We certainly intend on returning in the future!

Lovely cottage.

Quiet setting in a peaceful village. We were welcomed on arrival by the owner who lives adjacent to the cottage and told to knock if we needed anything. We were told to make use of the garden which is large with plenty of areas to explore and quiet places to sit. There are plenty of local walks and places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Owners very friendly, beautiful house and lovely well kept gardens.

Very quiet and relaxed atmosphere and spot on location to discover the Cotswolds areas. Rooms large and airy and well furnished. Very fast WiFi. Wonderful powerful shower although modern doorless showers tend to leave a very wet floor and a soaked towel !

We had a lovely stay at The Old Diary.

It was a real "home from home". The owners were very helpful and friendly and the cottage was very clean, cozy and comfortable. It was a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Will certainly be returning at some time in the future.

Lovely Christmas decorations and lots of generous treats. The village was beautiful and the local pub cosy and welcoming with good food. Ideal for keen walkers in the wonderful countryside and neighboring villages.

This wonderful cottage is situated in the very pretty village of Shilton.

The accommodation was very comfortable. Excellent shower room and well equipped kitchen. Immaculately clean and everything of high quality. Map with local walks marked on it was very useful.

We had a fantastic weekend staying at the Old Dairy.

We met Nicola, such a lovely friendly owner. Homemade delicious brownies waiting for us on our arrival. The local pub, became our second home, so inviting and friendly. This lovely cottage had it all from the location, quality of the furnishings, very clean, warm & inviting.

Location was great for us, pretty village with a local pub that served lovely food. The cottage had a great wood burning stove, just the ticket in November and there was a plentiful supply of wood. The bed was large, comfortable and beautiful linen. We really did have a very relaxing stay.

We booked the Old Dairy for 5 days and had a great time there!

Nicola and Tom are wonderful people and generous hosts. We were welcomed by yummy homemade brownies and jam, and a lovely tea-set all ready for an afternoon treat. Later, Tom dropped in for a nice chat, recommendations on walks around the region, and a bottle of wine. The Old Dairy itself is very comfortable, with lovely little decorative details (from the vintage tins in the kitchen or the Agatha-Christiesque desk in the living room), and all the modern amenities you might need (an excellent shower included). We, especially, loved the fireplace and being able to stay in with a cosy fire on the evenings. We also especially liked Shilton. All the other villages we visited were very picturesque, but Shilton has the feel a real lived-in village, quiet and reserved. It was very much reminiscent of the villages we grew up in our countries, which made us feel happy and at home. The "Shilton Rose and Crown" down the road added to its charm. On the day of our departure, we left with big smiles and an excellent bottle of apple and pear juice that Nicola had just pressed in her kitchen! We highly recommend the Old Dairy, and will definitely be going back in the future for another great mini-break!

Amazing cottage, all you could wish for with lovely gardens. Shilton is a pretty village with Burford, Bibury and Letchlade close by for all your amenities. We have waited nearly 18 months for our honeymoon due to Covid but when we arrived we were delighted. We had a welcome tray, flowers from the garden, home made brownies, eggs and a wedding present which was a lovely gesture. If you are looking for a tranquil, relaxing accommodation amongst lovely surroundings then The Old Diary is perfect. By night there is a lovely wood burner to relax to and Tom is on hand to help with the wood. Keep doing what you are doing Nicola and Tom as it’s perfect. It is the perfect cottage to base a holiday from being central to anywhere you may wish to visit.

It is very homely and the owners are very welcoming. What a wonderful and we certainly hope to be returning!

A very nice cottage in a beautiful setting.

The village is very nice , the owners on hand and really helpful very nice people ,the cottage has every thing you need and more very roomy . 10 /10 . plenty of cupboard space. The only draw back is like in every Sykes cottage the fridge freezer. They are far too low and very difficult to access not good for the elderly or disabled.

Just returned from a really nice stay at The Old Dairy.

The property is a real treat: a lovely combination of period fittings and modern comforts. Tom and Nicola are kind and generous hosts and we would love to return in the near future. Shelton itself is a very pleasant and pretty village, and although slightly on the edge of the Cotswolds we found it ideal for Oxford/Blenheim P in one direction, and Buford and all the other lovely Cotswolds towns/villages in the other.

A perfect cottage tucked away in a picture postcard village with easy access to the whole of the Cotswolds . The owners were incredibly welcoming (thank you for the delicious brownies!) and helpful throughout. This was a perfect antidote to lockdown city living stresses and we would definitely recommend.

Discovering Shilton and the neighbouring area was a great experience.

These tiny villages form a beautiful 'hidden corner' of the Cotswolds; very different from the tourist attractions such as Burford - and arguably more attractive. The Old Dairy was a wonderful comfortable home base and Nicola and her family were very hospitable.

We found the cottage very much as described homely and comfortable and the hosts very accommodating in a lovely location a local pub a short stroll away and other villages and towns within easy reach all in all very enjoyable break in a beautiful cottage in an ideal location would definately reccomend and would hope to visit again

The Old Dairy was absolutely perfect.

The hosts were incredible and provided lots of small touches to make the place very inviting. For a couple looking for a break away from it all, but being only 10 minutes away from some of the busier spots then this is perfect. We will certainly be back.

It was peaceful and tranquil and a great location to journey out to the lovely villages and towns the Cotswolds have to offer. The owner Nicola was really welcoming and friendly and we arrived to freshly baked vegan cookies which were delicious and the place was even better than the photos suggest. The Old Dairy is a well furnished and equipped annexe cottage to Shildon House good size kitchen/ breakfast room ,great shower comfotable bedroom and lounge with open log fire for those autumn/winter nights The host's Nicola and Tom are very friendly leaving a few treats for you and allowing you the freedom to roam their extensive gardens and with useful local information The property is located in a small quiet village with a very good hostelry ,the Royal Oak,only a ouple of hundred yards away serving superb food and ales and with the medieval town of Burford 2-3 miles one way and the larger Carterton the same distance the other way for all your provisions Also well situated for all the Cotswolds sights you will want to see

Shilton is an attractive village and a very convenient location for visiting all parts of the Cotswolds.

The cottage is well-appointed and has every facility you could possibly need.We were made to feel very welcome. You will not be disappointed; you will long to return, as we do.

This is a great little property in a beautiful setting in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Perfectly located for exploring the area and on the village there is a great pub serving high end restaurant-style food. The facilities are excellent and every detail has been thought about. The owner is lovely and left us some eggs, fresh juice and a freshly baked cake for our arrival. We will definitely be back to the Old Dairy!

This cottage was as good in reality as the images on the website.

It is tastefully furnished with a lovely mix of old and new. Just a tiny thing that must have been overlooked. The freezer compartment and the bins had not been emptied since the last visitors so we did that ourselves.

The cottage was clean, warm and cosy.

The decor was lovely. The bed and sofa were very comfy. The hosts left us some lovely food. I would highly recommend it

This cottage is a delight.

It’s a pity we only stayed for three nights, and we will certainly return. We loved the comfort and cleanliness, the superb location for sightseeing and the off road parking was a big bonus. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Even before arriving at The Old Dairy, Nicola the owner was in contact with us and very kindly arranged for us to arrive early which fitted in with our travel arrangements.

On arrival the Old Dairy met every expectation, not just the presentation of the cottage but the thoughtful welcome of the lovely fresh eggs and homemade cake. The property provided a great base from which to visit all that the Cotswolds has to offer, but at the same time a lovely place to relax and enjoy a quite evening. We were travelling in our vintage car which when raining benefits from being garaged if the weather becomes inclement. Nicola and Tom were extremely kind and made space in their barn to shelter our pride and joy!! - thank you so much for this. The Old Dairy was simply a lovely home from home and for anyone planning to visit to the Cotswolds it cannot come more highly recommended. We shall without doubt return.
