Is there anything we can say about Washpool Cottage that hasn't already been said?

! Probably not - but we won't let that deter us! The property is very clean and comfortable, with everything you need for a lovely stay. Washpool is ideally situated for visits to Burford and further afield, but is itself located in a quiet rural location - the best of both worlds. The only minor disappointment while we were there was the weather, but - that aside - we still didn't want to leave.

Just perfect!

Only positive things to say about the cottage and its location. We would love to come back again in the future.

We found the property a little difficult to find from the instructions but Oh Boy what a delight when we arrived.

This is one of the best holiday rentals we have ever been to. Perfect layout, beautifully clean, Lovely furniture and the most comfortable beds. An absolute delight. Central to all what the Cotswolds have to offer. One tiny little negative. An absence of a razor point in the bathrooms but apart from that. Just great! 10 out of 10.

The cottage was superb.

Clean, warm, comfortable sofa and beds, and a charming welcome from the owners. Beautiful walks from the door and top quality food at the local pub a mile away. Location perfect for exploring the Cotswolds. Five star!

A perfect weekend!

The hosts were absolutely fantastic and the cottage was everything and more! Already looking at when we can return!

We thought the cottage was delightful, well equipped with good quality appliances.

It was warm and having a wood burner was great. We didn't use the jacuzzi being winter and the weather was bad. It is well positioned to get to the other villages and towns in the Cotswolds.

Such beautiful accommodation, clean, comfortable with everything we needed under one roof.

Enclosed outside area which was great for our little dog. Hosts were so welcoming and it is a wonderful base for exploring the Cotswolds.

Washpool is a lovely cottage in a quiet, relaxing part of the Cotswolds but within easy reach of the usual tourist attractions.

A nice walk of just under a mile takes you to a lovely pub/restaurant (The Hare) and a Co-op for necessities. The owners live around the cottage and we received a warm welcome on arrival but then left to enjoy our stay in the knowledge they were nearby if needed. Parking is ample off-road. Perfect place for our party of 4 adults, 1 baby and a dog with all amenities for all available on request (baby stuff). Scones & jam and coffee pods available on arrival was a nice touch. Highly recommended

WE HAD A LOVELY WEEK AT WASHPOOL In a cottage surrounded by farmland and fields.

The location was very good for travelling around the many beautiful Cotswolds towns and villages. A warm welcome from the owners on the day of arrival was most helpful, also the goodies for us to enjoy. The beds were very comfortable, as was the living room, the kitchen was well equipped too, anything you needed was at hand. I would indeed recommend Washpool to anyone who would like to stay in a rural country cottage with all the modern amenities at your disposal, even a Hot Tub in the garden. The weather was good too which is always an added bonus. The rain came down the night before we left. Most certainly a great holiday which my husband and I shared with our dear friends. Linda

The property was just perfect!

Location is just fantastic and is very central for travelling around the Cotswolds. Washpool had everything you needed! Fantastic showers super comfortable beds, lovely kitchen, well equipped throughout, super clean and we couldn’t fault anything. Our dog Freddie loved our daily walks in the beauty countryside. The owners are lovely too - friendly and helpful and contactable if needed, but we didn’t need anything. We will be back for sure - and we highly recommend staying in Washpool.

Very spacious and well equipped with everything you will need,the coffee machine was a win with my husband and daughter!

The owners were on hand to answer any questions. The hot tub was a welcome addition after a day out walking. The location is a great base to explore the Cotswolds. We enjoyed meals at The Hare and Fire and Wine which are a short drive or a 30 minute walk away.

Location was fantastic as so close to everything we wanted to visit. Very quiet location on a farm. All equipment worked well and it was a lovey touch leaving scones, jam and apple juice and milk for a cup of tea on arrival. Lovely outside area with large round table and comfortable chairs. Had a lovely relaxing stay at the Washpool.

We enjoyed all the facilities in the cottage, especially the welcome pack and the log burner. The cottage is very comfortable, well maintained and peaceful. It’s only 5 minutes away by car to Burford. I would recommend Burford curry restaurant, we had a takeaway and the food was delicious. A couple of times during our stay the internet went down but, the owners were very helpful and quickly resolved this.

The cottage was very lovely and the owners were on hand to help with anything.

) for being at the end of my WhatsApp messages, Mike for greeting us and giving us an unforgettable farm and piggy tour and Andy and Richard (junior!) for their friendliness, farm knowledge and all for spending so much time with us on what is clearly a very busy place! Even Mark working on the machines, thank you for also being so friendly when being so busy! You were all so welcoming and your hospitality was impeccable. The cottage…well, it’s stunning. Beautifully presented, very well maintained and looked after, very clean and incredibly comfy (I had two of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time) and it was so quiet and peaceful. I visited with my husband, two best friends and our elderly husky and we all had a wonderful, relaxing and fun time together. The tv didn’t go on once over two days and we played Jenga (courtesy of the game cupboard!) chatted and drank rum! Just perfect and idyllic as all four of us have very busy and stressful (probably not as stressful as running a farm!) jobs so was good to get away. For a small cottage it didn’t feel that small as there are three toilets and two of those are proper bathrooms, all the rooms are really quite large and very bright and airy. My one friend is 6’6 and the ceilings weren’t that low for him, he did have to duck under some of the beams and doorways! We had welcome scones, jam, clotted cream and milk and some coffee pods to keep us going. The cupboards even had a few essentials (oils, sauces etc) and the kitchen had everything you’d need to cook basically anything! Loved the Smeg fridge! It is very private to the rest of the houses/farm and the patio area is very private too. I can’t thank the owners enough for their flawless hospitality, kindness and friendliness. The Cotswolds are becoming very close to our hearts as my husband and I have been a couple of times now and we are already hoping to return and stay at Washpool cottage again…and maybe see the pigs again too! Thank you all again, loved it!

Perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. Met by Mike who even chauffeured us to and from The Hare on our first evening. Thanks again Mike. Very tasty homemade mince pies on the welcome tray were appreciated. We made some great Christmas memories, including firing up the hot tub on Christmas Day!

Perfect stay.

House well equipped warm and very comfortable. We stayed for three weeks awaiting a house purchase and there was everything we needed. A home from home. We especially appreciated the weekly linen change, refills of toilet rolls etc and the Nespresso machine and pods. The owners were lovely and on hand should we have needed them. Would recommend.

Top quality comfortable beds and bedding, lots of cosy throws throughout and the whole place spotlessly clean. Generous parking and a very nice private seating area outside if it had stopped raining! We have to say that Washpool is one of the nicest holiday cottages we have ever had the pleasure of booking.

Friendly, helpful owners, great location, peace and quiet, wonderful facilities and an extremely well-equipped cottage, lovely hot tub and comfortable beds - there really wasn't anything we could fault! Washpool is convenient for most of the main attractions in the Cotswolds, just a few minutes' drive from Burford and less than 20 to Stow on the Wold and beautiful Bourton. The Hare in Milton does the most delicious food and is walkable, albeit on country roads and hills. One thing to note for dog owners, you aren't allowed to let your dog use the garden. Thank you for a fabulous stay. We can't wait to come back.

A fabulous cottage.

Everything you need, with some added extras. Anne & Mike were so welcoming, they gave us a little tour of the farm and the children even got to feed the horses and pigs. They made some fabulous recommendations . We arrived to freshly made scones (clotted cream & Jam) and a few other little extras. The hot tub was a bonus. Gowns and towels are provided too. It took a little bit of warming but once ready, we all enjoyed some lovely evenings chilling. The cottage is a perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. Just 10 mins from Burford and Chipping Norton, we also visited Stow on the Wold, Daylesfords, Broadway Tower, the Wildlife Park, Diddly Squat, Bourton on the Water, Blenheim Palace. We even went to the local park which had a very well equipped playground for all ages. We had some lovely days out and all easy to get to. We enjoyed a lovely curry at the Spice Lounge in Burford and a fantastic meal at the Hare at Milton just up the road. We would highly recommend this cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Washpool Cottage was everything we hoped for and more.

We spent a relaxing and comfortable two weeks in the cottage. The moment we walked into the beamed kitchen and found a welcome pack including jam, cream and home made scones we knew it was going to be a good holiday. The owners were helpful and friendly showing us how to light the wood burning hot tub and making sure we had everything we needed. The beds were soft and comfy and everything was beautifully furnished. We are already planning a return visit.

The cottage was very comfortable and clean and well positioned for travel around the Cotswolds.

Rooms were all of a good size and well equipped with TV's etc and reliable WiFi. We received a welcome package of dog treats, clotted cream, scones, jam and apple juice which was really nice. We have a whippet and so having a fully enclosed garden was a must for us. The only downside was when we arrived the brochure said dogs were not allowed to pee in the enclosed flagged area. The only other option was to walk the dog along the road which was both narrow and fairly busy. It would have been really useful is either the area in front of the cottage or somewhere else on the farm could have been designated as an area for the dog (we do pick up after him). The owner did forget to put milk in the fridge and did offer to get us some, but we had brought our own.

Welcome pack - scones jam and cream plus doggie snack a lovely surprise. Whole place was very well equipped. Good to have downstairs WC. Clear instructions for cooktop.would be useful. Advice also that main bedroom shower was in the high sided bath. An excellent time away for four people.

Our party of four have just spent a week at Washpool cottage and couldn’t fault it.

A great week celebrating our wedding anniversary back where we used to live.

The cottage was a wonderful space to share with friends socially and relax in comfort. The kitchen and large breakfast bar were perfect for entertaining. The peaceful location with no light pollution helped our sleeping. We didn’t need to light the wood burner indoors but so enjoyed the wood fired hot tub and the scones were the best we have ever tasted! Thank you to all the Hartley family.

We had the most amazing stay at Washpool.

Clean and extremely cosy and comfortable with lots of thought put into small details you may need during your stay like foil and tupperware for packing picnics. We enjoyed the hot tub and it was a treat to start each day with the nespresso coffee machine. The cottage is in an excellent location, just a short drive to many attractions and towns for sightseeing.

The cottage itself is outstanding, beautifully furnished and decorated and has everything one could want.

We loved it. The written information left at the property seemed rather out of date with nowhere to write any recommendations or tips for future guests. Although the cottage is listed as dog friendly it should be made clear that there are no walks straight from the cottage, despite that being stated on some of the website listings for this property. Dogs are permitted in the farmyard not the cottage patio. The lane outside the cottage is very very busy and there is no verge or pavement which made walking our dog first thing in the morning or last thing at night hazardous. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and would recommend to non-dog owners.

Washpool was a delightful cottage, well equipt and very well presented.

We were very grateful for the personal welcome and all of the 'gift items' (scones, clotted cream, jam, doggie treats, flowers etc) which were well chosen and spot on (so often the things left are not to our taste). We valued the Eco influence and the locally sourced sculpture over the fireplace. It was a very stylish and comfortable place. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

The cottage was fabulous, plenty of space for 4 adults and a Welsh Terrier.

Made good use of the courtyard garden to eat out and chill. Location was very central to visit beautiful Cotswold towns. Owner gave great tip for lovely morning walk for the dog. All facilities were of a good quality with comfortable beds and sofas. Would certainly recommend.

Faultless

Can't recommend this property highly enough.

It is an excellent conversion of the former stables. Timber from these stables has been carefully blended into the cottage. The furnishings and décor in the lounge were tasteful and of a high standard. Double doors open onto a patio with garden table/chairs and log fired hot tub, which takes 2 hours to heat up. Sun loungers are available in the shed. The kitchen is very modern, well equipped and offers all the resources you require. Upstairs there are 2 large double ensuite bedrooms with king size beds. The property is in a quiet location, sitting between a country lane and a large courtyard.

To Manor Cottages: We stayed at the Washpool rental for two weeks in the first half of May 2023.

While the property was unremarkable on the outside, the stable conversion was superb. It was luxurious and comfortable, and very tastefully furnished and decorated. We were impressed with how completely it was outfitted – absolutely everything we needed for cooking and living was there, and more. The collection of guidebooks and maps was helpful, too. The location in rural Upper Milton was ideal for a 2-week stay in the Cotswolds. We used it as a base to explore the rectangle bounded by Cheltenham, Warwick, Oxford, and Bath. Our hosts, the Hartley brothers and their wives, were delightful and gracious. They provided us not only with useful local information and good conversation, but also with a tour of the pig-farm part of their extensive operation. That was fun, and quite instructive. Excellent property, very welcoming

This rates as one of the best self-catering holiday properties that we have rented!

It has been fitted out to a very high standard. We were welcomed with freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam and that set the tone for the week. The owners were very friendly and concerned to ensure that everything met our expectations. There was so much to do in the local area and some great pubs for meals. This will definitely be our property of choice if we re-visit the Cotswolds.

We came with our baby and our dog and the cottage was spotless had all the facilities we needed (comfortable beds, cot, dark rooms, Wi-Fi, washer, parking etc.) If we were ever in the Cotswolds again we will definitely be staying here again.

The cottage was impeccable!

Spacious, clean and immaculately presented. It is without doubt, the best accommodation we have stayed in. The owners were extremely welcoming and we felt that if there had been any issues, they would have resolved them straightaway. We will definitely be returning.

This was the best staycation we have ever been on.

The home was absolutely beautiful (I could have lived there). I thought that the cottage was going to be smaller than it was but it was super spacious with everything you could possibly need. The hosts were so lovely and really helpful and the area was perfect too. We even got snow which was just perfect before Christmas. We will definitely be visiting again! Thankyou!

Amazing cottage, old wooden beams but modern and high quality fixtures and tasteful, comfortable furniture.

The beds are perfect not too hard or soft and fluffy downy duvets for winter, Lots of space to stretch out in front of the log fire in the lounge and the wood-fired hot tub under the stars was really special. The owners were close by and are very helpful and friendly, but didn't interrupt our stay. A car is preferable but not essential - if you don't mind spending a bit of money to go out and about there's a reliable taxi in Wychwood.

We had a lovely weeks stay at Washpool cottage.

The cottage itself has everything you will need in your stay, with home comforts as well. Plenty of utensils for those that enjoy cooking. Location is great for getting out and exploring the Cotswolds by car, we were able to easily access all the typical tourist hotspots. We walked down to the Hare pub a couple of times which was a treat, gorgeous Sunday lunch. It is a country road with no path the majority of the way. We used the hot tub a couple of times.

Absolutely stunning cottage in a superb location for exploring the Cotswolds.

The owners were very helpful & friendly. The cottage exceeded expectations & we had an amazing time here. The only disappointment was that it wasn’t within easy walking distance to the pub as it was along a 60mph road with no pavement so we didn’t brave that walk !! My daughter loved the hot tub..bit tricky to heat up though as it’s wood fired so you had to wait at least 2 hours for it to warm up…think it would benefit from a normal hot tub but this is only a minor point & certainly didn’t affect our holiday. We would love to come back !!

Washpool holiday cottage is absolutely delightful!

We really enjoyed our stay there and are seriously contemplating booking again for next year. Overall we found the cottage to be excellent and couldn't fault it in any way. In addition, the owners (who live opposite) are lovely people and are very friendly and welcoming. Even though we didn't need to, it was good to know they were available if required, or to ask for advice on the locality.

The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished, with it's own private outdoor area and hot tub. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. A great place to stay.

Check in said 18.00 hours but the owner phoned to say property ready at 15.00 hours 1 hour before the scheduled time.

An excellent cottage with everything we needed for a happy holiday

This cottage is fantastic!

we stayed here last May and decided to return as it was one of the best accommodation we had been to. Ideal for two couples as we both have our own bathrooms. Equipped to a very high standard and owners in hand incase of any problems. We woke up one morning to find there was no hot water and it was sorted as soon as possible (boiler fault) This year we finally got the hang of the wood fired hot tub!

Washpool Cottage is ideally located to explore the Cotswolds.

It is a very spacious cottage but still maintains it's cosy character. It is very clean and everything is at hand and catered for - a real home-from-home with the added luxury of the Swedish hot tub! The garden is very dog friendly - our four legged friend couldn't escape the walled garden! The bedrooms are lovely and the beds are huge and extremely comfortable which makes for a very good night's sleep after exploring the area. Lots of nice places nearby by to eat and drink. A throughly lovely place to stay - would highly recommend it.

Beautiful cottage lovely welcome will book again

An excellent cottage for our group of 4, a well equipped kitchen, lovely lounge with plenty of seating, two good sized bedrooms and ensuites, and very comfortable beds.

It is the best cottage for a group of 4 that we have stayed in.An added bonus is the hot tub after a day out! Location is great, near to many places in the Cotswolds and only a few mins from the lovely town of Burford. The local pub the Hare serves very good food, and there are good walks nearby. We will definitely be back!

The cottage really is a home from home.

Beautiful decor and thoughtful touches throughout including a delicious welcome hamper! Everything that you could need was there - even games for the kids to play and books for the grownups to enjoy!

Another brilliant trip to Washpool, our second visit this year and by far the best holiday let we have ever used couldn’t recommend it enough.

The owners are lovely and the cottage is finished and equipped to a very high standard. We will be visiting again in the new year I’m sure.

The cottage was spotlessly clean throughout . The whole cottage was set up to a high standard from fittings & soft furnishings to bed linens and bathrobes. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The setting was very tranquil whilst also being a great base from which to explore the local area- Burford is close by, and other traditional Cotswold villages are in easy reach (e.g.Stow-on-the Wold, Bourton on the water). We loved the log fired hot tub, and had a very comfortable stay. My dog came too, and was made very welcome. I'm very happy to recommend this cottage and would love to return.

We had a fantastic stay at Washpool for the week - as parents to a toddler we found the cottage very well equipped for our needs including a stair gate, cot, high chair and a secure garden.

The hot tub was lovely after a day exploring the Cotswolds!

The cottage was immaculate, the family run it beautifully flowers and homemade scones clotted cream and jam awaiting our arrival.

We choose the hottest week to visit and we’re so lucky to have the tub to sit in and cool off. The surrounding area is so beautiful our dogs loved it. Lots of lovely walks. We were there for Harvest time under the harvest moon. Would definitely recommend this cottage fantastically equipped kitchen, very comfy beds, lovely high class towels and bed linen. Weather was so wonderful we ate out on the patio for all our meals never used the sitting room.

We have stayed in approx 30-40 holiday rentals worldwide & I can say without doubt this was there most comfortable and we'll equipped of any.

The location was also perfect being very quiet but with easy access to all Cotswold villages
