Lovely annex and great location for pubs, meals and exploring the cotsworlds

Everything was so perfect, we absolutely loved the cottage and how close it was to Burford.

I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. That being said the communication was nonexistent, thankfully, we didn’t need to reach out for anything that required immediate attention. Other than that, it was lovely. A very nice little tucked in spot.

Pleasant accommodation for a short stay with all necessary amenities provided.

Rural setting and close to market town of Burford. Cosy and warm, but just beware of sloping ceilings due to nature of building which can catch you unaware! We found it very comfortable in all respects.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Rookery, had everything we needed and in a lovely area, near Burford.

We walked in to Burford high street which was only a 20-25 minute walk. Everything was clean & tidy & the bed was really comfortable so had some good nights sleep! We did have a small issue where the tv wouldn’t connect to the wifi on occasions but Chris was really quick to come & help & installed a new tv! Thank you so much. Highly recommend.

Lovely accommodation within walking distance of picturesque Burford, cosy, well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Fast WiFi and dedicated parking. The local pub in Fulbrook served very nice food. Underfloor heating, with only a single small radiator, so may not be suitable if you expect to be drying lots of wet walking/running/biking kit (although the owners kindly offered to wash & dry it for us). The road can bit a little noisy in the wet if you like to sleep with a window open.

It's an excellent little getaway location, good privacy and many local amenities and walks to go on around the area.

You're definitely not short on pubs and places to eat! The fact that The Rookery welcomes a dog and has a dedicated nook for them to sleep in is a rare little treat for our pup! We would definitely like to rebook should we be in the area again.

It was a lovely clean space, with underfloor heating to keep us warm.

I was met when I arrived and helped with the key box. Across the road is a lovely wild space for dog runs - but the road itself has no pavements, so it is frightening for the 30 seconds it takes to reach the safe entrance and wild walk. Great attention to the design of the space, with a good shower room. Because I like a large mug for my coffee, I travel with my own. The ones provided are elegant but small.

The Rookery is perfect for a short break with self catering facilities and there are plenty of restaurants/pubs nearby if you don't feel like cooking for yourself. Excellent value for money, would definitely stay again!

This was a lovely stay in a great location.

The hosts were friendly & were even there on arrival to greet us. They really went above & beyond. Inside the property they had created a little folder with instructions on how to use the appliances within the property and provided useful information such as where to eat, drink, visit & even taxi numbers. The property was clean & spacious. It matched the description and photos accurately. We would highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting the Cotswolds!

A Perfect Stay for Us and Our Pup!

We had the most wonderful weekend staying at this immaculate annexe. The attention to detail was incredible—my French bulldog, Hector, couldn’t get enough of the built-in bouncy dog bed, which he used as both a trampoline and a cozy nap spot! The location was perfect, nestled in a charming village with plenty of dog-friendly activities nearby, and just a short trip to Oxford. The owners were incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a relaxing, pet-friendly getaway, this is the place!

Everything we needed was there but a glass jug would have been handy. Very clean and well kept property and also secure for our dog, Molly.

Due to the shape of the property & the ceiling, it could do with some kind of sign so you do not bang your head.

Very clean and well presented, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Chris and Ruth are great hosts, although we had no need to refer to them (everything was perfect and well explained in the property booklet), they came out to say hello and have a chat when they saw us outside. A lovely little seating area at the back of the property should you wish to sit out for a drink. Ideally situated for visiting attractions in the area, I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a break away.

A great place in a great location to spend 4 days.

Property is a studio but it was big enough for the two of us. It was well and thoughtfully furnished and the kitchen area was well equipped. The owners were friendly, helpful and they recommended the excellent Carpenters Arms for dinner. We would recommend the Rookery without hesitation

Lovely cottage.

Very comfortable. Owners very pleasant and welcoming. The welcoming pack was very informative for the local area. Well situated for exploring the Cotswolds. Our dog enjoyed the dog bed area! Would be happy to stay here again.

The hosts were charming and attentive, being happy to cater for all needs.

They provided a lovely stay, where the location enabled us to walk into Burford and was a short distance from Diddly Squat Farm, Witney and even convenient for Bicester designer outlet. A very enjoyable break and we would definitely recommend The Rookery for the perfect Cotswold holiday.

The location was nice and the apartment itself had all the basics.

However, we really struggled with the sloping ceilings and both hit our heads half a dozen times in the first 24 hours (I am only 5 feet 4 inches). At £196 per night, we thought it a little overpriced as it was quite small, no dishwasher or washing machine, no shampoo. No major issues with the property but it just didn't work for us.

The owners Ruth and Chris were friendly and very helpful.

They were able to provide local information to improve on various walks around the area and local amenities. We would gladly stay there again.

Very comfortable stay at The Rookery.

Just watch your head on the slanted ceilings. Although this was a dog friendly listing, there isn't anywhere for dogs to toilet, apart from going across the road to the fields. The road was quite busy and no actual path to walk on to get to the gate for the field. Would suggest the verge be strimmed to allow you to walk in safety. Overall a lovely stay. Would recommend.

A charming place to have a retreat in the Cotswolds.

Very cosy and cute barn conversion with all the ammenitities you could ask for. Dog friendly with a lovely big dog bed in the wall, our boy loved having his own space. All the little touches in the cottage make it a very inviting place to stay. Nice walk across the fields directly opposite the cottage. Burford main highstreet within walking in distance too. Had dinner at the pub down the road which was delicious. Experience was the perfect weekend getaway with impeccable accommodation. Highly recommended.

The Rookery is immaculately presented and an ideal base to explore this picturesque part of the Cotswolds. Local cycling knowledge shared by Chris gave us amazing traffic free routes through beautiful villages and countryside. Would definitely recommend.
