What guests are saying
the property was comfortable and showers good.
A few points to consider; the 2nd bedroom only had 3 pillows on the double bed. No shade in the garden so couldn't enjoy the views to their full extent. I think clients should be advised that when Aga is turned off in the summer there is only a hob and microwave for cooking.
We really enjoyed our four night break at Cotswold View, as the name suggests the view is amazing.
The property is of a high standard. The main bedroom has two skylight windows, but has no blinds which in mid summer means an early start. As in a previous review fans within the property are needed during the Summer. On arrival some basic essentials would nice, like a small bottle of milk ….. although a basic cleaning kit was left in the kitchen it only container two dishwasher tablets for four nights, it did not have a cleaning cloth to wipe surfaces properly. These are only very minor issues which are easy and cheap to fix. The property is in a great location, near many towns and villages with good access roads. The owners have fixed the sticking gate now which had been mentioned previously. Would recommend you reverse into parking area, giving you a better view when leaving the property.
Cotswold view is absolutely stunning - light and airy and beautifully decorated and arranged.
The beds were really comfy - had a very good nights sleep. Only 2 little ‘niggles’ however- one was the front gates - on arrival i opened the gates as requested and hubby drove in - but as there was little room to turn round we had to reverse out next morning - hardly ideal on quite a busy road. The gates are also a bit fiddly and not easy to open and close in rainy/windy weather- it does say the owners intend to install automatic gates eventually so wont be a problem then. The other niggle was the Aga - the notes asked you not to mess with the settings but i have a feeling someone had as it took forever to heat up. We brought 3 ready meals and a garlic flatbread for our first evening but ended up cooking them one at a time in the microwave and the garlic bread in a frying pan on the hob - not ideal but it was either that or eat at midnight! After that we decided to eat out but a shame when the kitchen was so beautiful and well equipped. I can however recommend the cottage - gorgeous views and not far to go to explore the lovely Cotswold towns and villages.
