The property

This magnificent five-bedroom home, Whittington House, is hidden away in the quaint community of Long Compton in Warwickshire.Listed by Country Life magazine as a 'cream of The Cotswolds' property this utterly charming residence dates back over 400 years.

Rumour has it that it was from Whittington House that the fabled Dick Whittington began his journey to London, where he later became Lord Mayor.

This house, which has beautiful views, is ideal for a big family or even a group of friends travelling together.

It also makes a great base for visiting Warwickshire.

Moving through the property reveals a grand dining hall with seating for up to ten guests, the ideal spot to be served by the designated chef of the group.

Inside, a superbly fitted kitchen offers all the essentials for a stress-free stay, including a dining area where you can enjoy mealtimes as a family.

Ditchley Park, Heythrop Zoological Gardens and the Cotswold Falconry Centre all provide a memorable day out for animal lovers, and Bourton Woods is a breath-taking spot to take a nature walk and bask in the stunning sights.

The much lauded Soho Farmhouse (15 mins by car) and Daylesford Organic Farm (13 mins by car) are also in close proximity.
