“Had a great stay at The Old Bakery for New Year - we were a group of 7 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies.”

Great village with a handy store less than 1 minutes walk away and local pubs too Spotlessly clean and everything we needed Kitchen is very well equipped Only things I would have changed - A bath mat would have been useful as the bath is very slippery for little ones An earlier check in would have been great - I understand re the cleaning, but, arriving in the dark at 5pm with 4 little ones wasn’t easy as it was a bit tricky to find the key box - I know there is a photo of its location ...

We would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it.

The property

The Old Bakery, a five-bedroom, traditional Cotswold's property, is located in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire.

The home, which was formerly the village bakery about 18 years ago, still has much of its original character, including exposed beams and floorboards and an old bakery oven, and is conveniently located near the stunning Cotswolds.

The kitchen/dining area features a beautiful central island, a dishwasher, and a washing machine, so you can prepare delicious meals for your family and friends to savour over celebratory bottles of bubbly in the dining area.

After dinner, spend some time in the backyard with a glass of your favourite beverage and soak up the last rays of the day.

After dinner, retire to the living room and curl up in front of your favourite show on the TV.

If you'd rather watch something else, the inviting snug has its own TV and plush sofas as well.

For your convenience, a cloakroom is located on the ground floor.

Take the stairs up to the first floor, where you'll find a well-appointed bathroom with a bathtub and an overhead shower, perfect for freshening up after a day of exploring.

As an added bonus, there is a second cloakroom, ensuring no morning queues!

Those in search of a little more seclusion can retreat to one of the five tastefully decorated bedrooms, which include a king size with an en-suite shower room, a king size with gorgeous freestanding bath, a third king size bedroom, a standard double and a twin.

The Sun Inn and Pear Tree Inn in the village are great places to eat with your loved ones, while Hook Norton Brewery is a great place to sample some of the area's best ales.

A butcher, Post Office, and a pizza delivery service are all available in the village.

Walking enthusiasts will be delighted by the 65-mile D'Arcy Dalton Way that passes through the village and leads to Wormleighton.

When it comes time for lunch or dinner, there are many great options in Chipping Norton, such as The Blue Boar and the Thai Shire.

If you're looking to stock up on fresh produce, stop by Diddly Squat Farm Shop, which was featured on the hit television show Clarkson's Farm.

Head further into the Cotswolds AONB to hike along the Cotswold Way that ends at Bath Abbey, visit the National Trust sites of Chedworth Roman Villa and Chastleton House, or stroll around the attractions of Batsford Arboretum and Garden Center and Sezincote House & Garden.
