“Arrived to a wonderful cottage, the owner had left some milk, biscuits and orange juice which was greatly appreciated after a 3 hour journey!”

Wonderful setting, lots of walks from the house itself. The pub at the end of the road was absolutely brilliant.

“The cottage and location was a wonderful find!”

The enclosed garden was perfect for our mini dachshund to runner around in. The bed and bedding were of high quality (so important when you are away from your own comforts). With so many great walks right outside the front door, we were spoiled for choice. Have added the cottage and the village to our list of places to return to in the Cotswolds.

Fantastic location with many great walks from the doorstop across lovely countryside. 2 minute walk to a pub with good food. Very peaceful location for a very relaxing holiday.

00 am as they didn't have anyone in there that day. The owner came out and helped us find the property as it's not 100% clear in the directions. The porch was lovely and spacious. The bedrooms were spacious. Things I didn't like: the lounge furniture is seriously uncomfortable and spoils the affect of the cottage. The TV is tiny and sounds very tinny as a result. We used the oven a couple of times and it hadn't been cleaned, a tray was left in there and it had crumbs in it. Not very private in the outdoor sitting area (it's in a residential area), could do with some shrubbery for privacy, the area looked quite sparse. Not suitable for children, more suited for couples.

The property

Rural England at its best!

The Rectory in Shipton Moyne is an attractive cottage set in the grounds of a magnificent Cotswolds Manor, in the heart of a beautiful village, located just outside Tetbury.

The building has undergone a total refurbishment and the result is a very smart, characterful holiday home that is both smart and cosy in equal measure.

The kitchen is well equipped for a big cooking feast, the living room is warm and welcoming with its wood burning stove, while upstairs are two large bedrooms and two ensuite shower rooms with views to the church and village.

Outside is a true Cotswolds gem of a village, quite literally stunning and with a pub to match both in quality but also in name - The Cat and Custard Pot - how terribly 'Cotswolds'!

Beyond are a wealth of things to do, places to visit: Tetbury is a few mins down the road, Bath and Cheltenham about 25 mins away.

Otherwise bring your bikes or walking shoes and get out into the fresh air and enjoy some picture perfect English countryside.

Heavenly.

About the location

TETBURY

Cirencester 10 miles.

Tetbury retains a wealth of character within its ancient streets. The town’s origins date back to 681, but it was during the Middle Ages that it flourished as one of the major markets for The Cotswold wool trade. Nowadays The Market Hall is still home to a busy general market every Wednesday, whilst the town as a whole is something of a mecca for antique hunters with several shops in the town and regular fairs in the vicinity. Closeby is the Forestry Commission’s Westonbirt Arboretum, one of the largest collections of rare shrubs and trees in Europe, whilst further afield (but still within easy driving distance) are the elegant Regency cities of Bath and Cheltenham, Shakespeare’s Stratford and other attractions such as the internationally renowned Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust.
