The property

Located on the edge of the unbelievably quaint village of Painswick lies Farm View Lodge: light and bright accommodation, and the perfect choice for a family or friends to enjoy this beautiful part of The Cotswolds.

Arranged over one level, the accommodation has been transformed to provide simple but extremely welcoming accommodation.

The kitchen/diner offers the perfect place to sit and enjoy a relaxing breakfast and plan the day ahead, or to enjoy a leisurely evening meal prepared in the well-equipped kitchen, and to catch up on the day's events.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the bright and inviting sitting room, where you can laze with a good book or watch the latest offerings on the TV ( with integral DVD player).

You also have the luxury of two superbly appointed en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor, the first is equipped with a sumptuous king-size bed and en-suite shower room, while the second bedroom has twin beds, and again an en-suite shower room.

Outside you have free range of the owners grounds, with a separate seating area for guests' use, in a position where you can make the most of stunning views out across the valley towards Sheepscombe and beyond.

Unusually for a farm you are only a short stroll from the centre of the village, so while you are here take the opportunity to explore this incredibly pretty village; possibly best known for the Rococo Gardens, and the Yew trees in the historic churchyard of St Mary's with its folklores to discover.

If you are feeling slightly more energetic, then take a walk up to Painswick Beacon to enjoy the magnificent scenery, or wander to the tiny hamlet of Sheepscombe and visit the renowned Butcher's Arms pub and sample some traditional 'pub grub'!

If a spot of retail therapy is more your thing, then the gorgeous town of Cheltenham - claimed to be the most complete Regency town in England - is only ten miles away.

Farm View Lodge is the perfect choice to enjoy the best of both town and country.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

PAINSWICK

Stroud 4 miles; Gloucester 7 miles; Cheltenham 10 miles.

Painswick, located only 10 miles from Cheltenham, is a town and civil parish in Gloucestershire. The town originated from the wool trade, but is now best known for its parish church’s yew trees and the local Rococo Garden. The village is mainly constructed of locally quarried Cotswold Stone. It stands on a hill in the Stroud district which overlooks one of the Five Valleys and is halfway along the Cotswolds Way National Trail. It is home to a cricket and rugby team and has a popular golf course on the outskirts of the town. There is a local pub The Royal Oak which offer real ales, real fires and a courtyard. Opposite the pub is a well-stocked village shop. A twenty minute walk from the village is the Painswick Beacon which affords vast views across Gloucester to the River Severn and the Malvern Hills. The Painswick Centre hosts many events and exhibitions and is home to the ACP Gallery. Painswick is 4 miles north of Stroud and 2 miles northwest of Slad – home of Laurie Lee, author of “Cider with Rosie”.

Please Note: as the name might suggest Farm View Lodge is located on a working farm, and small children when outside must be supervised at all time.
The property shares the washing machine and tumble dryer with one other property (which accesses these machines completely separately).
Whilst guests have access to all the owners garden, a separate seating area, approx 50m from the Lodge has been created to make the most of the stunning views.
For those with mobility issues, please note there is a gravel slope leading to the front door .
This property requires a Good House-keeping Bond of £100.00.
Please note car charging is not available at the house.
