    “Cooker hood not working so we had cooking smells all over the place.”

    Bulbs in 2 lamps blown. Frequently run out of hot water for bath/shower. Most of the taps need replacing. We didn't appreciate the fact that when we arrived at the place, there was bits of food and crumbs all over the dining table! The top of the fridge/freezer was filthy as well. More attention to detail needed for cleaning and also we didn't appreciate finding someone's used earplugs under the bed. All this little issues are totally avoidable. However, the cottage was in a lovely ...

However, the cottage was in a lovely location right near a lake (so we could have a cheaky swim) and the host was very helpful. The ouitdoor pool was only 2 mins walk away and again that was lovely. We appreciated the Christmas tree and also grateful for the host leaving wood, kindling and firelighters for the log burner. Despite the little moans above we would come back to this cottage again provided that it was cleaned thorougly prior to our arrival. We got our deposit back promptly.

The property

Located within the Cotswolds 550 acre Lower Mill Estate nature reserve and just a minute's stroll from the River Thames, the property offers accommodation ideal for families with youngsters, but is also perfect for couples looking to relax. Internally, the cottage is welcoming and well furnished with your own grassed garden outside, perfect for sitting / playing, with a small and shallow stream, and lake beyond. The Lower Mill Estate is particularly attractive for families as there are many activities on offer, including outdoor heated swimming pools, sauna, tennis courts and walking as well as countless other activities nearby.

This property also benefits from Membership of the ARTSPA facility (heated indoor/outdoor pools, as well as an eco-pool, sauna, treatment rooms, gym etc). Customers clearly love it and a recent comment says: “the cottage is stunning and absolutely everything we needed was there.

We loved the area so much that we've put the next date in the diary for a return visit!” Outside to the rear of the property (south facing) you have a good sized garden, with seating area.

A shallow stream runs through the garden with a bridge to a large grassed area giving lots of space. Customers have use of the ArtSpa, plus outdoor heated pools, sauna plus tennis courts.

Canoes and paddle boards, plus cycles, available for hire – or bring your own.

Excellent and varied fishing with the lakes, plus Lakes available for non-powered boats .
