“Wow what a fabulous cottage.”

Warm comfortable and welcoming. It has everything you need and more. One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Dedicated safe parking place next to cottage. It takes less than 2 minutes to walk into the beautiful Cotswold town many places to eat and drink. Good place to tour from during the day park the car and wandering in for the evening to celebrate the day you've had which you will as the cotswolds always delights.

Ideal for exploring all the beautiful surrounding countryside. We very much enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Not easy to locate though and advise not to arrive early on Market Day - Tuesday.

Great cottage, comfortable and well equipped, great bass to explore the Cotswolds from, only negatives and they are small, are the mirrors in the bed rooms are a tad small, and could do with a power point in second bedroom near the mirror I brought my extension lead in case and did need to use it, as I said small issues, otherwise this is one of the best cottages we have stayed in and would recommend if your looking to stay in the Cotswolds

Lovely fresh bed linen and towels. Comfortable beds and settees. Fully equipped with everything you need. Short stroll to centre of village and to railway station, ( no railway noise in the cottage), could not find anything negative about this holiday home. Would highly recommend.

“Lovely cottage, incredibly well equipped, nothing it didn't have.”

Very clean with lovely furnishings. The board games were a great extra especially when the weather wasn't on our side. Owner was super helpful and very friendly. Very well located for walking into town for shops or pubs and just a short drive to many of the local attractions. Only thing it didn't have was some private outdoor space but a lovely large park just a few minutes walk away

The cottage was big enough for 2 persons and anything we need was there. The village (incl. shops and restaurants) was on the corner of the street; just some monute walk.

“Tallow Railway Cottage has clearly been recently renovated and the interior modernised, the makeover does retain the character of the original building and the interior open plan configuration has been cleverly done.”

The interior furnishings have been well chosen and were stylish and new, making for a very comfortable stay. The bedrooms were beautifully dressed with new bedding once again in a very stylish manner. The kitchen was clean and well appointed and all cutlery, crockery, glasses, cookware was of a modern and new appearance. The bathroom was also fresh and clean and of new appearance and again well appointed. We have been holidaying and using holiday cottages for many years and this property rates as possibly the best to date. Equally as important as everything else, the owners present the property in a manner which "welcomes" the guest. Some Tea Coffee and milk was available on arrival as well as a bottle of wine and some cookies. A welcoming message left on the small blackboard in the kitchen area with other additional info such as the WiFi password etc. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property for others as the owners clearly demonstrate that they care about the experience of their guests.

Stow-on-the-Wold 4.5 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 8 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 16 miles; Cheltenham 23 miles; Oxford 31 miles.

The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh lies on the Fosse Way Roman Road in the northern Cotswolds and boasts many elegant 18th century buildings, which are home to traditional inns, serving real ales and home-cooked food, tea rooms, restaurants and individual shops to suit all tastes. It also boasts it's own train station and lies on the intersection of the Paddington rail line from London. The town hosts the Moreton-In-Marsh Show, one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, as well as the Moreton Beer Festival, an annual French Market, and a large outdoor market every Tuesday. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of the town, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close by. Less than five miles away is Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. Close by is Bourton-on-the-Water, which is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds as the River Windrush runs through the centre. It lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. Also within reach is the spa town of Cheltenham. This town boasts an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, and is famous for its horseracing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within driving distance. A convenient base for exploring the Cotswolds and the wider area.
