    “Such a pretty apartment.”

The host shares my love of all things copper! Tricky to find at first as location is slightly incorrect on Google maps (we nearly walked into someone’s cottage) which I have updated. The apartment is in an excellent location in beautiful Malmesbury. Our host was very quick to respond and very kind, even leaving us milk and a bottle of wine. In the interest of honest and constructive feedback, the room should not be described as ‘King sized’ as we found this a little misleading. The bed is a standard double and was too small for us. The room would get very hot and could do with an extra sheet in case you didn’t want the duvet. I am a heavy sleeper but soon realised that ear plugs are a must as the property is single glazed. It would also be great to include hairdryer/iron etc on the listing. A huge bonus but we then wouldn’t have had to bring ours. We were a little concerned that someone was accessing the spare key in the coded box outside our front door?! As far as we are concerned, no one should be entering the property whilst our belongings are in there without notifying us. So we removed the spare key for the duration of our stay. All in all we had a really enjoyable stay and were grateful for all the little extra touches and all that Malmesbury had to offer.

About the location

MALMESBURY

Chippenham 11 miles; Cirencester 13 miles; Bath 23 miles; Tetbury 5 miles.

Dating back to the Iron Age and reputedly the oldest borough in England, the pretty market town of Malmesbury is located on a hilltop in the southern Cotswolds. Malmesbury is steeped in history and offers visitors over 400 listed buildings, a 15th century Market Cross, a ruined 7th century Benedictine abbey, an annual carnival and many independent shops, cafes and traditional pubs. Abbey House Gardens, home to 'The Naked Gardeners' can also be found in Malmesbury (Note: The gardeners are clothed during normal opening hours) and the annual Womad Music Festival is close by at Charlton Park. The area offers many country houses, including Rodmarton Manor and Gardens, and Chavenage House, a fine example of a Cotswold manor unchanged for 400 years. Just a short drive away is The Cotswold Water Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covering 40 square miles and offering a wide range of activities, including boating, waterskiing, fishing, cycling, golf and horse riding, plus Bath, Cirencester and Tetbury are all within easy reach and well worth a visit.
