  • “What a lovely cottage.”

All as described and arrived to cakes and milk in the fridge which was very well received after a 4 hour drive. Beautiful and safe garden for our four legged friend and enjoyed watching all the wildlife that visited the neighbouring garden and birdfeeders, also listening to the owls during the evening. Well situated for visiting the surrounding area. Lots and lots of lovely walks and a visit to the viewpoint at Frocester (5 minute drive) was amazing and on such a lovely day. Other places ...

Well situated for visiting the surrounding area. Lots and lots of lovely walks and a visit to the viewpoint at Frocester (5 minute drive) was amazing and on such a lovely day. Other places worth a visit - Stround, Woodchester Manor, Tetbury, Malmesbury, Combe Castle (so pretty) and Slad for the Laurie Lee Walk. Lovely Fish and Chips from Gravity and an Indian which was also delicious from The Dilraj, both located in the nearest town of Dursley.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback from your stay at Brook Cottage. It is great to hear about all your experiences not only of the cottage but of the local area. Owner relations

The property

Brook Cottage is a cute bolt hole situated deep in the countryside of the southern Cotswolds, approx 6 miles from Tetbury and 2 miles from Stroud.

Brook is such a sweet home, very much the pride and joy of the owner who loves to make guests feel welcome and at home.

The cottage has everything you need, neat and tidy - spick and span!

The comfortable, open plan space downstairs looks towards the garden (enclosed) from your armchair, it really is very welcoming.

Upstairs is a good sized bedroom that looks towards the road into the village and countryside beyond.

Outside there is a garden area to the rear.

The property, which is attached to the owner's home and located on the edge of the village, is an ideal base for touring the area with superb access to locations such as Westonbirt Arboretum and Cheltenham and Badminton for the races.

It is also very convenient for Bath.

The property is superb value for money, which we heartily recommend, and with proximity to the lovely village of Uley, it is one to consider if touring the region.

About the location

TETBURY

Cirencester 10 miles.

Tetbury retains a wealth of character within its ancient streets. The town’s origins date back to 681, but it was during the Middle Ages that it flourished as one of the major markets for The Cotswold wool trade. Nowadays The Market Hall is still home to a busy general market every Wednesday, whilst the town as a whole is something of a mecca for antique hunters with several shops in the town and regular fairs in the vicinity. Closeby is the Forestry Commission’s Westonbirt Arboretum, one of the largest collections of rare shrubs and trees in Europe, whilst further afield (but still within easy driving distance) are the elegant Regency cities of Bath and Cheltenham, Shakespeare’s Stratford and other attractions such as the internationally renowned Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust.
