“The only reason it doesn’t get a top mark throughout is that there was something lacking with the electricity supply.”
We have an electric car. When we arrived we were very very low on charge after the journey down (our fault I admit) and needed to put a few miles back into the car battery for safety. Normally you can do this with a trickle feed known as a granny charge by using a three pin plug in the premises. It just puts a few miles into the car to get you to a fast charger elsewhere. We couldn’t do that because there was insufficient power in the house electricity supply and it might have been a disaster ...

Normally you can do this with a trickle feed known as a granny charge by using a three pin plug in the premises. It just puts a few miles into the car to get you to a fast charger elsewhere. We couldn’t do that because there was insufficient power in the house electricity supply and it might have been a disaster on our first day. The electricity is adequate for the utilities in the house but not for the car charging. Not normally a problem, but in these days of increasing electric vehicles I do think that this matter should be pointed out because some people will rely on a few miles of charge in the same way we did! Other than this it is a great premises.
Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at The Granary. We will of course pass on your comments to the Owner, but this is a first that we have had guests advise the electric supply isn't enough for the house. We will get Maintenance to assess, but we do not advise guests to use the 3 pin plug to charge the car, we only permit charging with actual charging points that are in place at our holiday homes. If you need locations of charging points, may i suggest you try Zap-Map as this tell you all the local places to charge and if they are fast charging points or not, we use it all the time with our electric car. We hope you still had a lovely stay with us and we would love to welcome you again very soon. Kind regards Manor Cottages.
