It's not often you can say that you've spent the night in a property believed to be 1000 years old!
Although some of the original features remain, Manor Cottage (as it is now known) is an historic building which today provides cracking self catering accommodation for families or groups up to six people.
Formerly listed as the Chapel of St Polycarp and still in a relatively ruinous state in recent years, this now delightful cottage has undergone careful renovation to ensure that trusses, beams and original stone work are still present.
The owners (who did much of the work themselves!) live next door and take great care to ensure that guests are comfortable and welcome.
This is a great cottage to come and hide, in a village that is perfectly located for touring this area of the northern Cotswolds.

This market town defines the saying "good things come in small packages" as it proves itself to be a wonderful place for tourists to stay. Chipping Campden sits in the northern part of the Cotswolds and boasts many historical buildings from St. James' church where the Chipping Camden Music Festival is held every year, to the early 17th century market hall upon which the town prides itself. Not only does the town have a rich history but much more, the high street is laced with charming Cotswold stone buildings with a range of shops and pubs. Nearby there are several beautiful, formal gardens for you to wander through. Chipping Campden has held its own 'Olimpick Games' since the early 1600s including peculiar sports such as 'shin-kicking', most certainly worth lining your holiday up with to experience something so unique. For a dose of famous history, head to the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon just 12 short miles away, it offers some charming little buildings, bookshops, theatres and museums.
