About the location

BERROW

Ledbury 7 miles; Tewkesbury 7.4 miles; Malvern 9 miles; Cheltenham 16 miles; Ross-on-Wye 16.7 miles.

The scattered village of Berrow lies in beautiful Worcestershire countryside, close to the border with Herefordshire and Gloucestershire and just over half a mile from beautiful common land that adjoins the southern end of the Malvern Hills. The village offers many lovely walks, cycle routes and bridleways, as well as a village pub. Close by Pendock boasts a well-stocked village shop, a stunning Grade I listed church, and earthworks from a village dating back to medieval times. Nearby Ledbury lies on the River Leadon and is famous for its numerous timbered buildings, including Ledbury Park, believed to be one the finest Black and White buildings in England, as well as the 17th century Market House in the town centre and The Painted Room, home to 16th century frescoes. Nearby is Eastnor Castle, a fine example of a mock-19th century castle. Tewkesbury is only seven miles away which banks the rivers Avon and Severn and boasts a stunning cathedral and many amenities and shops. The beautiful Worcestershire town of Malvern dates back to the Bronze Age and is situated on the eastern side of the dramatic Malvern Hills. The town holds antiques fairs, WI country markets, farmers’ markets and many auctions throughout the year, as well as the Great Malvern Food Festival in June. The Malvern Theatre welcomes productions from the West End and the Royal Shakespeare Company. In the historic waterfront city of Gloucester you will find Roman foundations, Victorian Docklands and a magnificent Norman Cathedral (whose cloisters were used as a location in the Harry Potter films) rubbing shoulders with a bustling city centre boasting an incredible range of shops, markets, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions. The delightful regency spa town of Cheltenham, with its historic Georgian architecture and incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions, as well as numerous festivals, including the famous Gold Cup horseracing meeting, is just a short drive away. For those attending the many events at the Three Counties Showground it is only a 10 minute drive away.
