“The owners were very friendly!”
The manor was very lovely, kitchen was very well equipped. We were also welcomed with a bottle of wine and some biscuits. The best part was the fireplace which came prepared and all we had to do was to light a match to get it going. The owners also left ample firewood and coal throughout our stay. It was definitely the highlight of our trip! The manor was very beautiful and cosy to stay in. We were lucky to be visiting when Stow and the surrounding towns had fireworks. It was definitely the highlight of our trip! The manor was very beautiful and cosy to stay in. We were lucky to be visiting when Stow and the surrounding towns had fireworks. On 2 nights, we could see fireworks from the property. The location was within 10 mins slow walk to Tesco and right across from the Stow town centre. Excellent location. One thing to note was the acute left turn into the garage. We were driving an estate/station wagon so we needed a bigger turning angle so we had to be extra careful whilst getting in. Just a nice to know. I would recommend this place because of the wonderful experience we had. Fantastic!\ Janice, Nov 2016
“Beautiful area, lots to do, good eating places nearby.”
Lovely garden with outdoor seating. Owner dropped in an electrical fan which was very welcome in the baking temperatures.
“The cottage was very pleasant and in a good location for Stow and other local towns.”
The cottage had been nicely renovated and much thought had gone into decorating it in a style suited to the cottage's 1930's construction
“We enjoyed our stay here.”
The house was comfortable, homely, quaint and well equipt. It's a great location, close to the gorgeous town of Stow-on-the-wold. We were initially worried it would be noisy, set near a busy road, but there was nothing to worry about. The house is set back from the road and is sound proof. The house has a lovely garden and a nice aspect at the back. Thank you for a lovely stay.†\ Tanya, September 2016
“: A lovely, clean, well equipped cottage with loads of character and in an excellent location.”
The owner was very helpful in responding to phone enquiries. Nice touches like fire ready made up and plenty of fuel provided, milk in fridge, wine, coffee, biscuits all made for a great break
“Great location and lovely welcome pack.”
3rd stay at this property and we will be booking again.
“We had everything we could possibly need and the little extra touches such as the welcome pack and as it was xmas there were dog treats and crackers left for us.”
It was a comfortable and cosy cottage close to the centre of the village.
“The cottage was lovely in an ideal location.”
The owners were extremely helpful with all the details regarding our stay.
“Beautiful cottage, the location is fantastic, great mod cons and a lovely log fire.”
“We really enjoyed our stay!”
......excellent accommodation, will book again.
“We could not fault anything about our stay at Talbot Cottage.”
It was clean well presented nice touch wine biscuits and tea and coffee, just what we needed for a couple of days away. Highly recommend both the cottage and Manor cottages.
“Lovely people and cottage .”
“Very clean, great decor.”
“The cottage was lovely, the owners couldn't be more helpful, we had a couple of teething problems and they were there to help straight away.”
Location of the cottage is absolutely perfect. Only negative might be that for someone with small children the very busy main road immediately outside the cottage is precarious and crossing it is the only way can walk into the town so they need to be vigilant.
“The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need.”
The rooms are all a good size and the garden is great. The location gives opportunities for great walks as well as the convenience of being on the doorstep of Stow for easy trips to the shops and no hassle eating out. Really great for dogs because they can be contained in the kitchen. Although it would be even more amazing if the garden were more fully enclosed to the main road. The recreation field at the end of the lane is a real asset.

About the location
Bourton-on-the-Water 4 miles; Stratford upon Avon 15 miles.
The highest town in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises olde worlde England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antique shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of Stow, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close to the town. Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' as the River Windrush runs through the centre, lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are all within easy reach and make a great day out. Cheltenham (20 miles away) is, architecturally, the most complete regency town in England. A spa town with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse-racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. At other times of year, it is host to literature, jazz, classical music, science and food and drink festivals. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called 'The City of Dreaming Spires’ has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within easy reach, making Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base.
