Golfing in the Cotswolds What better way is there of enjoying the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds than a round of golf? And luckily, there is plenty of choice, so in this article we’re going to compile a list of the best so no matter where you are staying you’ll find a place to practice your driving.

Cheltenham

Set within the 1000 acres of Cleeve Common, Cleeve Hill golf club commands outstanding vistas of The Forest of Dean, The Malverns, and even the Black Mountains and Brecons. They currently have a special offer on their full membership price, coming to just £33 per month.

Chipping Norton

Set in the countryside of Chipping Norton, this golf club was founded in 1890 and is proud of its ‘GolfMark’ status, earned in recognition of its facilities for beginners and junior golfers. They have a wide range of membership options and for a limited time are waiving the joining fee.

Chipping Sodbury

You’ll find this one adjacent to the beautiful market town of Chipping Sodbury, with membership prices starting from £37 per month. Their Beaufort Course was opened in 1971 and was designed by Fred Hawtree, presenting a challenge to all levels of golfers.

Stow-on-the-Wold

Found near the town which A A Gill made infamous in his book The Angry Island, Naunton Downs Golf Club considers itself to be one of the most beautiful golf courses in England. This club also has the unique benefit of featuring tennis courts which can be included in the yearly membership cost.

Tetbury

This golf course is a part of the bigger Westonbirt Leisure Centre, with the course itself belonging to the girls boarding school Westonbirt School. This course may be ideal for those people not looking for full time membership as prices are set for a full round of 18 holes so there is no need to make a long term commitment.
