If you have booked Stratford upon Avon accommodation for the beginning of October you are in luck, because the Stratford upon Avon Music Festival is due to take place between the 2nd and the 9th of that month.
The best thing about the festival is that it offers lots of different kinds of music to enjoy. It packs in everything from baroque music to jazz right through to folk and lots more besides. It runs for a whole week too, which means you will always be able to find something worth going along to for a good time.
If you find out more about the music festival you will realise that there are lots of different events taking place. What’s more they are not all restricted to one venue. Different parts of Stratford upon Avon will be playing host to musicians both experienced and new. The one thing you can absolutely guarantee is the quality of all the performances. This annual festival is known for its professionalism and it provides another good reason to come to Stratford upon Avon as well.
If you are wondering what some of the highlights are going to be this year, allow us to give you a taster. A wonderful sampling of baroque music is set to kick off the event this year, with Crispian Steele-Perkins and the Handel Players taking over the Holy Trinity Church. This will be at half past seven in the evening on the 2nd, so you may want to book tickets for this popular group.
Incidentally all tickets should be booked in advance and full details of the booking process can be found on the official website for the Stratford upon Avon Music Festival. You will find you can also make a booking in person at several different locations, depending on what you want to go and see.
Not all the performances will be taking place in the evening though. There is a popular series of lunchtime concerts as well, offering a chance to brighten up your day! You have the chance to listen to a Russian pianist on the 6th October at noon, when Olga Stezhko takes over the Town Hall in Sheep Street. This is a well known street in the town so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding it.
As you can see there is plenty to look forward to as the festival gets underway. Even if you haven’t yet arranged Stratford upon Avon cottages to stay in, it’s not too late to arrange something. Perhaps a UK long weekend break would be ideal? It would give you the chance to enjoy more time at the various concerts as you could book tickets for more than one event.
Be sure to check out the entire programme of events during the week the festival is on. This will enable you to find the best ones for you, depending on what type of music you want to listen to.
