The nights are drawing in and the days (and nights) are definitely getting colder, but that doesn’t mean there is less to look forward to when you visit the Cotswolds on a great weekend away in the UK. In fact, there is a good event worth seeing in Cheltenham in the middle of November, as the Open gets underway.

Three days in November

The event takes place over a three day period from Friday the 11th to Sunday 13th of November, and is perfect if you're into horse racing and you are booking a UK weekend break, stay in a Cotswolds cottage and enjoy a few days away from home while you are here.


During The Open you will be able to explore and enjoy a large shopping village provided as part of the weekend, so it’s not just about horse racing. Of course you might want to put a bet or two as well, as there are several major races taking place on each day of the weekend.

Great days out

With several races each day, you have plenty of opportunities to take in the exciting atmosphere. Friday Countryside Day with that special 'country fair feel' including a range of displays and demonstrations covering many equine and other country pursuits. Saturday is the highlight of the first half of the Jump racing season, featuring the Bet Victor Gold Cup. Sunday is a great opportunity to get the children along to enjoy a day out.

There is plenty to see and do while you are there, and a visit to Cheltenham Races is certainly a great addition to any Cotswolds weekend away.
