Property Information

Reevey Garden Cottage, Visit Britain Four Star Award, is a truly delightful holiday cottage situated in the small village of Kempsford, itself approx 5 miles from Lechlade on Thames. The countryside here is known as the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with many attractive villages nearby, some with gorgeous local pubs and excellent walks. Reevey is a spacious holiday house attached to the owners stunning home, yet set enjoying its own sizeable grounds, incl private parking. All rooms within the cottage are large and welcoming - an ideal choice for families or small groups alike. There are many period features throughout giving the cottage a truly traditional feel, whilst offering all modern conveniences! We particularly like the location and setting of this cottage - along with the Tennis Court and superb vegetable patch! You may even get some seasonal produce....

Local Information

Reevey is a small area on the edge of the village of Kempsford. Kempsford itself has a long history, some with royal connections (Henry IV) and today is an attractive location with good local pub. The village describes itself as the 'unofficial Gateway to the Cotswolds' and has a history dating back hundreds of years. Of particular note, however, is Kempsford Manor which as well as its own history is renowned for its superb gardens which are open through the summer months.

Also nearby is the Fairford Air Base which is now a small base with little activity EXCEPT for the world famous Air Tattoo weekend in July. A short walk away is The George pub, a traditional 'local' serving good food. There are a host of attractions nearby including the Cotswold Water Park and Cotswold Wildlife Park with many attractive Cotswold's locations within an easy drive including Burford, Stow on the Wold, Cirencester and Bourton on the Water. Slightly further afield are Oxford and Cheltenham.
