Local Information

Coln St Aldwyns is an exceptionally attractive Cotswold village located approximately half way between Burford and Cirencester, just on the edge of what we like to call the 'central Cotswolds'! The village has wonderful architecture with countless classic Cotswold cottages and some more regal homes in between. There is an excellent and well respected local pub within a minutes' walk of the cottage front door (The New Inn) plus there is a well stocked local shop supplying basic goods from local suppliers.

You can fish at Coln St Aldwyns, where there is some exceptional fishing on the beautiful River Coln moments from the front door and in beautiful countryside. Day Tickets cost £65.00 with the limit at 3 Rods Per Day. Further details on request, but booking in advance is advised.

Within a 5 min drive is the famous village of Bibury described as one England's finest villages, including the National Trust owned Arlington Row. From the cottage there are countless walks into the countryside, including one along the Coln Valley to Bibury. Slightly further afield are Burford and Cirencester with many attractions and restaurants to choose from. For the more determined you can travel to Bath within 1 hour 30mins, alternatively why not try Cheltenham or Oxford within 30/45 mins comfortably. A great location for sure!
