High House (Visit Britain 5 Stars) is a stunning and distinct holiday home, located in a quiet village in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The property has undergone a full refurbishment and is presented in a very attractive style with a 'cool contemporary' feel throughout - a distinctive and memorable rural retreat! There are some superb pieces of modern art through out which really stand out and give the rooms a unique ambiance. The property overlooks a delightful, south facing cottage garden which is for use by customers and simply perfect for enjoying a quiet moment. The village of Clanfield (famous for its use in the filming of Downton Abbey!) is an attractive one, with the notable benefit of two very good pubs - both within a very short distance of the holiday property. Together the situation and property are an ideal mix for a relaxing luxurious holiday or weekend break.
ACCOMMODATION
Entrance through to living room.
Living Room, welcoming room with double aspect and views to garden; two sofas, wall mounted flatscreen TV with Freeview, DVD player, stereo system plus collection of good quality books.
Kitchen, modern and light and fully equipped with electric hob, oven and grill, dishwasher, washer/drier, large fridge freezer, microwave. There is a table and chairs.
Bedroom with 4'6'' double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, Ensuite Shower Room with walk in shower, WC and washbasin.
Outside
To the front and side is a super garden full of interesting plants. There is a table and chairs. (Please note that during the summer months, the owners open their garden for sculpture exhibitions to registered guests. The owners wish to make sure that guests are aware of the occasional visitor to the gardens!)

Local Information
Clanfield is an historic village located about 5 miles from Witney and Burford. In many ways it displays classic Cotswolds characteristics with many attractive stone buildings and houses throughout the village, some dating back to the 12th Century. There are two good pubs in the village, The Clanfield Plough and also The Tavern, both of which serve good beer/ale and also offer good (but different) food.
Surrounding the village are a selection of attractive villages and hamlets. Of particular note is the famous Kelmscott Manor famous for its association with William Morris the important designer of fabric. Slightly further afield are a host of National Trust gardens, while there are some excellent walks from the village directly.
For the more adventurous, Oxford is within 20 mins drive, while most of the Cotswolds' most famous landmarks such as Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Chipping Campden and Tetbury are all within half an hour drive.
