Local Information
Henmarsh sits on the edge of Barton On the Heath an attractive village located in open countryside mid way between the Cotswold towns of Chipping Norton and Moreton in Marsh. The area is particularly beautiful as it enjoys unspoilt rolling countryside with many delightful villages all nearby and similarly attractive. Although there is no pub or shop in the village, Little Compton, Long Compton and Great Wolford all offer basic facilities for guests. There is a choice of two pubs within a 25 min walk, one a excellent gastro pub!
Moreton and 'Chippy', as it is known locally, both offer more amenities including supermarkets and their own farmers markets. Stow on the Wold alternatively has a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants also. There are plenty of sporting facilities within easy reach including golf, riding, fishing (in season).
Barton on the Heath is close to the very popular Broadway and Chipping Campden while the bigger towns of Stratford upon Avon and Warwick (and Warwick Castle) are within a relatively short drive.
